Man this is a tough question. Unlike last year, I think this is a bit of a down year for Bmore talent. At least in the senior Class. I can't even name five studs at each position. I don't know a lot of what they have out in Howard County this year.

Of what I know and I'm not counting ECA because that's not really in the area.

QB- 1. Shane Cockerille(Gilman)- my pre-season Favorite for OPOY
    2. William Crest(Dunbar)- returning state champion with the best upside
    3. Jake Clise (Loyola)- could have a breakout year
    4. Malik Gilmore(Mt. Hebron)- great measurables

RB- 1. Deandre Lane(Catonsville)- should have a monster year.

WR- ????? A few I could list but not in any order. No one stands out right now.

OL- 1. Chibuzo Ukandu(Gilman)- just a monster. Will probably play DT in college
but could also be a high D1 OL.
    2. Malik Jones(Dunbar)- very good OL that will be a high D1 player.
    3. Moise Larose(Wilde Lake)- Already has high D1 offers. Huge kid but raw
    4. Dariz Hill(Dunbar)- very big kid with great upside. Has to get in shape
    5. Nicholas Bonaparte(Dunbar)- big kid but solid player

DL- 1. Henry Poggi(Gilman)- one of the best in the country. Nuff said
    2. Melvin Keihn(Gilman)- potential 5 star junior. One of the top recruits of
the top recruits in the nation for Class of 2014.
    3. Marvin Gross(Dunbar)- high D1 player that has unlimited potential.

LB- 1. Micah Kiser(Gilman)- to me the best player in the state on the field.
    2. Miles Norris(Gilman)- most underrated player in the state. Beast

DB- 1. Delando Johnson(Calvert Hall)- not sure what position he will play but
he would be the top safety in the area
    2. Troy Vincent Jr.(Gilman)- the real deal and looking even better. High D1
    3. Jordan Martin(AACS)- very good underrated player
    4. Kennedy Frazier(Calvert Hall)- pretty solid DB with great size.

This year there's a lot of unproven players that will make a name of themselves. Should be an interesting year.

I think there's a potential for Jabari Weems from McD to be a top level WR, he's got all the tools, and lots of varsity experience.

Wyatt Cook from McD is only a rising sophmore, but he'd make my top 5 LBs.

I don't know as much as I'd like to about the public schools coming into this season, but I do know Crest from Dunbar is a heck of a QB. I believe South River has a pretty good QB too, I think they'll have a breakout year.

I actually thought of listing Wyatt and I think he will be there after the season. But I put him in the same category as Robert Branch. They are definitely the top 2 rising sophomores in the area but want to see how tey progress this year. But I think both of them will be two huge stars this year. Both scary good for their age. Just mature beyond their years.

I am suprised you have kids in there that have never proven themselves at the Varsity Level. I do not know all the Kids. I do Know the CHC kids First Delondo is the best WR CHC has. Kennedy has not played. Not sure who Rasaun Smith is at TE. If the Hall had a TE, they sure could of used one last year. You have 5 Dunbar kids on O and none on D. When it comes to CHC Kelly is there best CB hands down. Best LB is 3 year starter Epple. Delondo will be either a DE or a safety. The St Francis Qb should be ahead of some of these kids. I am not a fan but he did earn some respect last year.

If your talking about Washington (St Frances QB last year) he was a senior. He and the big lineman Sunny Odogwu are going to prep school..

I don't envy JMT for having to put that list together. He can't please everyone, me included. LOL. Yes, Delando may be CHC's best WR, but I do not have a problem with Kyle or Kennedy being on the list. I do agree that Bones Kelly's DB skill set is underrated and very good. He is a sound CB. This is a projected list. Rashaun Smith will be a freshman Big Sky. He might not be the only freshman to make the varsity team this year, but he will most likely be the only one who makes an impact. I am sure you saw him last season. Thomas knows who he is. He will probably start at DE from day 1. He has amazing hands with new school NFL type TE speed. Rahshaun's route running is very advanced for a young man who is entering HS. He is the real deal and already 6'2, 220. He already has the attention guys like Urban Meyer and has been destroying high D1 OL who will be juniors and seniors this upcoming school year. You know Donald does not like having freshmen on the varsity and he will start from day 1 and he will make an impact as a freshman. Of course, he will takes some lumps too, but he is an absolute difference maker on both sides of the ball. I think Epple is the most underrated LB in the state and is a top 5 LB in the area. He is a mean nasty, old school style MLB. He is committed to play lacrosse at Notre Dame. However, I think he would have a goot shot at playing D1 football if he wanted to. I also think Garret Keen is one of the top returning RB's this season. OT JP McManus has been busting his tail this off season and it is not going unnoticed. I would not be surprised if one or two young guys from CHC make this list by season's end, as is the case with every team.

I also think Colar Kuhns (Calvert Hall), Duke Etchison (McDonogh) and Crest (Dunbar) are all D1 QB's. They are all in the class of 2014. Rashad Estep (St Frances QB, transfer from Dunbar) could possibly be on this list by seasons end. I know camps are just camps, and I am sure I could catch some grief for my opinion. However, it's just my opinion. Colar won top QB in his class at the Madden Camp in Florida and he won top QB at the Rivals camp over Crest and a handful of the mid atlantic's best QB's. I am looking forward to see him play. I think his predecessor will be proud. You gonna come see him play, Big Sky? I am sure you know his dad.

Talking about the Jackson Kid. Now I can remember he was at Franklin. I will do my best to make some CHC games. I do think Colar will be a top QB, just do not want to put pressure on him this early in the pre season. Some people make mistakes thinking this kid is not a competitor. They are wrong, he is quiet as well as very smart. He will let his game talk for him. My biggest concerns about him is really about the coaches around him. They cannot lose there tempers and have to be supportive and build his confidence not be critical and destroy it. Coaches used to be mad at Thomas all the time. My advice to them is invest in a camera system that films from the end-zones. They will get more of a QB perspective. When they judge from the sideline they are not getting a true perspective of who is open or not, as well as what the QB is seeing. It is a totally different perspective

I'm looking forward to seeing Smith play. Hearing nothing but amazing things. 2016 class looks to be the next great Class in the state of Maryland. Might be better than 2012.

Marvin Gross might be the best DL in the area. They also have a DB and MLB that WILL make the list and Im not talking about Blackston...although I wouldnt be surprised if he makes a list by years end. Dunbar also has a Jr WR that may make the list at the end of the yr.

Marvin Gross is the real deal. He is close to my heart. I actually don't know him but his dad was one of my best friends. We grew up together in the Monument Street area. Haven't seen him in years but it wouldn't matter, nothing but love when I see him. MG Jr. needs to add weight. Potentially, absolutely could be the best. But Poggi is the best and Keihn will probably be the best in the long run. Keihn has NFL written all over him. He is a meaner Vic Abiamiri! Btw, Vic I heard just had a baby boy, congrats!

Eagle I'm surprised you didn't mention your speedy WR Taysean Scott as a top player. He made a lot of big plays for you guys last year and along with Weems make McD very dangerous through the air. I'm also surprised you didn't mention rising junior OL Jared Cohen. I have heard he is drawing a lot of interest from D1A's. I was over there this spring to watch my son play in a lax game and I saw him working out with some of your other lineman there. The kid is huge, has to be 280+ and not fat and can move very well, he has obviously spent a lot of time in the weightroom since last year. I think he'll be one of the best OL in the area this coming season. Can't wait to see Wyatt Cook play again this coming season, he is a beast and only going to be a sophomore, wow.

Are you talking about Leeland Lassiter at DB? He is a good player and a great young man. He almost came to The Hall last year. Who is the MLB and WR you think will be on the list ?

I'm sure you already know and a lot of people know because ESPN wrote about the kid but Gilman has a superstar west coast transfer that will be a sophomore. He will immediately make Gilman's offense dynamic. I never thought Gilman could have a player of Cyrus Jones abilities but looks like the have it already. Potential to be the best athlete Gilman has ever had. He will immediately be one of the best basketball players in state. Considered one of top bball recruits for the Class of 2015. Gilman's basketball team in the next 2 years will be amazing. With this kid and the rising freshman Evertt Winchester, they will be better than Cyrus and Ripken.

GC should be favorite against Gilman but it's just got a lot more intersting.

Dang, you guys might have more transfers on your 2012 roster than every other MIAA A conf team combined. LOL. Who would have though Gilman would end up being mercenary central.

Taysean is a great playmaker. The kid's just an athlete, he has an incredible vertical. If he was a few inches taller he'd be one of the best bball recruits in the country.

The entire O line is going to be young and bigger than any McD line in recent years. Jared Cohen is one of the anchors, but Austin Wimsatt and Ryan Ford are both big and talented rising JRs as well.

Cook, Akem Myers, and Justin Hawkins have the potential to be the best group of LBs to ever come through McD and one of the best in this area. All 3 played on varsity as freshmen last season.

Dom is always extremely hesitant to play freshmen (he played 1 (Roman Braglio) in 2008 and none in 2009 or 2010), so when you see not 1 but 5 freshman on varsity last season, you know that can be a special group.
