    Default Stark: Rumblings and grumblings

I think it's becoming more and more clear that the O's are trying to win this year. This might turn out to be a fun summer and to be honest I thought Duquette was an idiot. I've got a good feeling about what's going on right now. Is Angelos still in charge or what?

Time will tell, but hiring Duquette may ultimately prove to be one of the O's best offseason moves. At face value, you have to appreciate the willingness to upgrade the team.

J Sheehan killing the O's move. Comparing Jones to V Wells and Markakis.

3b= Headley in SD. As Stark points out, nobody really available, calling this a weird deadline setting up with not many teams out of it. Who are the sellers right now? SD and Min would be the only 2 for sure with Colorado,Sea,Oak maybe joining suit but who else?

Joe's actually being pretty generous w/that comp as I see it...at least in Vernon's case.

Sheehan must not watch much baseball.

Law points out Jones' great 1st half in 09. Sheehan says Jones is worth 4/44 which is ridiculous

Evidently, Sheehan knows about as much baseball as 18-87-44-29-TA.

I think they'd be better off with Roberts at 2nd and Andino at 3rd.

No no no! Can't carry Andino's .290 OBP and .310 Slg as a 3rd basemen

Interestingly enough, here's an article on baseball prospectus that makes an argument that the O's did the right thing.

If we somehow signed Oswalt I'd be all in on this team

True, if Roberts and Reimold can prove they are healthy you think they'd part with Andino or Avery? If they could pick up a proven player at 3rd or 1st they could part with Reynolds or Davis? I wish that Dude guy was still around to work out theoretical trades

Certainly not long term, but I'm not sure he's not the best option in the short term. Not a whole lot of other options outside of a major trade.
