I wonder; are you pleased or upset about being wrong?

Whether a team collapses in June, or collapses in September, the final outcome is the same. But the longer we go without collapsing, the more reason for hope. Being 10 games over .500 in mid-June is fairly new territory for the Os. Getting Markakis back and hopefully Reimhold could help. Maybe if we're actually contending, a move would be made to shore up the starting staff and/or get a hitter. I know, I know... it could happen, though. As has been said before in these parts, "why not?"

It will be interesting to see if the FO is buying in. They didn't in 2005, and didn't try to get better. We'll see what they do this year, and who they target. My guess is a starter.

While hope can be a dangerous virtue for an O's fan, I am cautiously hopeful that the extension for Jones is a signal that the team might just be active players (that is, buyers) by the trade deadline. It is without a doubt that this fanbase deserves that much.

They didn't 'run out of months' in 2005. Heck.....they were saying 'Its only July'....and were STILL proven right.

Duquette said on pregame show last Fri that if we're in it in July we will be in it to win it. Let's see if lives up to that promise. Then again you need young players that other teams want at the deadline so we'll see.

Ahh Yes Every haters favorite year.. Good O'l 2005. How many current Orioles were on that team again ?

I wonder if the 2004 Redsox were saying " Ohh No we can't win a World series we haven't won in 80 something years.." I wonder if the '95 Yankees said " Oh no we can't make the playoffs we haven't been in over 10 years " How about the 2008 Rays or the 2010 Rangers ?
Things change but I hope you don't cus you my friend are pure entertainment. You make my work days go by fast.

Don't forget lucky. Or opponent injuries. Apparently the Orioles are the luckiest team in the league and the only one without any injured players.

I've never wavered from the fact that they'll have to get through August for me to start believing.

    We'll see.
