    Hitting a homer isn't really the same thing as hustling/being a good sport/etc.
    Lots of guys hustle and bustle in the big leagues and get nowhere because they're bad. Your teammates have to respect your ability before you can lead. Look at Tim Duncan - he's a four time NBA champ and one of the most universally acknowledged leaders in the sport, and isn't very vocal at all. His teammates follow his example on the court.

    When guys see someone step up, it makes the want to do it too, especially when it becomes a trend. Also, he's been talked about as being a leader in the clubhouse as well, though that's something we'll never see.

    So what you're saying is that in 2000 Albert Belle was the team leader.
