Not surprising to me considering who else received offers. Simmons, by most was considered the 2nd most coveted recruit in the DMV in the Class of 2016. But I heard he had some bumps going against older competition recently at Camps and Combines. Everything I was told was that Tino Ellis was the one that has been killing the circuit. I am pretty sure he probably has an offer or will get one soon. Also heard that Simmons will most likely start out on the freshmen team and that Ellis will be on varsity. Heard Simmons is an OUTSTANDING kid and that his parents are the ones that want him to start out on the Freshmen team.

That GORC team last year was one hell of a team last year! With Simmons, Ellis, Dorian Maddox and Eric Burrell all on the same team, WOW! I saw that where Hamilton beat them, was probably the best youth league game I have ever seen. Maddox getting hurt killed them and they just couldn't stop Antonio Dupree. All of these kid's will be STARS and I believe sure fire D1 players.

Default 7on7 at Coolidge HS (DC)

CHC went 3-1 today at the 7on7U National Championship Series Tournament in D.C. It was another chance for the two CHC QBs to get reps and work on timing with their receivers. Calvert Hall opened up with a loss to Woodbridge HS (VA) but beat TC Williams (VA), St. Frances Academy (MD) & Kenton HS (OH). Unfortunately I had to work today and couldn't be there in person. However, they'll be back at it tomorrow in a double elimination format. The twenty teams participating in the tournament are from D.C. , Maryland, Virginia and Ohio.

i heard the same thing about simmons and davis at the combines...haven't had a chance to see ellis yet but all i hear is how mature that kid appears when he is on a football field...just doesn't look like a kid just leaving 8th grade...will definitely have to catch a saturday practice when camp starts because i also heard that ellis would most likely be on varsity...heard simmons looked great with team usa...great experience for those kids..

I was told CHC beat TC Williams again and Annapolis Area Christian, but lost a close one to Friendship Collegiate (DC) after leading early on. Finally, Paint Branch knocked the Cardinals out of the tournament. It was said that TE Erik Evans was a standout both days. CHC may be at Woodlawn HS next Saturday in another 7on7 event.

as noted earlier, the 4th grade illegal alien timed in the 40 by a gilman bird dog, while escaping the immigration man in essex, is working hard already. the green cards have been secured for his family[ they now have residence in a renovated 1940s loft above the old gym, which was used for decades by the seminarians from st marys]. they are employed at gilly tech, in the planting of an organic herb garden. the young man has moved into the poolhouse at biffs and is putting on weight, hoping one day to move into the "big house". he is projected as a potential six tool, 11 star, monster-beast, who will be able to play any position on the field[sometimes 2 at one time]. the staff thinks he will be able to be on the field every down of every game for years to come. he will play with the 6th grade team this year as a 3rd grader. they are holding him back now to avoid being called out for having too many kids double up the 8th grade[reclassified]

Sounds like they did alright. 92 Card has mentioned Evans' name a couple times on this board as someone to watch.

unless a child is a mental cripple, there is no benefit of playing freshman ball if u r good enough to play at the varsity level.
