    Default Dante Jones Leaving Edmondson-Westside

Just got a message that Dante Jones has stepped down as HC at EW. And will now help start up football at CCBC- Catonsville.

Sad day for EW! Although I was expecting that if Jones left EW that it would be for something bigger than football at CCBC.

Wow. This must be the year for moving. First Wrenn retires from Poly. Cory Johnson steps down at Patterson and takes over as OC at Mervo and now Jones. makes you wonder who is next. This leave a huge void at EW as Im sure Dante will take his staff with him. Lets wait and see.

Big loss for EW. I wish him the best. Dante is a good coach and a better man.

I wonder if CCBC-Catonsville starting football will have an impact on the rest of the Community Colleges in the state. It wasn't too long ago that there was a pretty large number of JUCOs in MD with football. This is a big loss for EW but a gain for MD football in general. Kids will now have one more place to go play out of HS, get their grades up and get noticed by a 4-yr school and get a scholarship.

Congrats coach well deserved. Know you will do well as everything you do, you do with the great one by your side and first in your life and program.

He played at Edmondson under pete Pompey, then went on to play offensive guard for 4 years at Virginia tech. He's been working with EW's linemen for the past few years though.

Hey, atleast somebody is paying attention to the stuff we write on this board.

Edmondson is my sleeper pick in the city this year. They were young and talented last year.
