The Mets have to be up there. All game they've done nothing but slobber all over Dickey, get their facts wrong, and be blind, apologetic homers. I don't know if I know any who are worse.

Doesnt get worse than Hawk. He's in a league of his own
Manfra for radio is worst I've ever heard.
Fred Manfra is as bad of play by play announcer as I have heard. Joe Angel paints a good picture of the game much like Jon Miller and Chuck Thompson.
Jim Hunter (Orioles) is atrocious. Hundreds of fans have pointed that out here over the years.

Not really "worst"; more like bizarre: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/rangers...1778--mlb.html
Which brings us to the nest question:
Which pair of radio and tv announcer, that worked together for the O's were the best.
Tv - Chuch and Bill
Radio - Jon and Joe
Josh Lewin is better on radio as a talk show guy than play by play.
The Braves in the glory days with Skip Carey were great. One time Ted Turner issued an order to all employees at CNN not to say the word "foreign", say "international". About a week later duruing a game a player had something in his eye and Skip said the player had "an international object in his eye." Skip was a fan with a great sense of humor.
What's wrong w/having announcers who root for their teams? I mean.....wasn't that why Peter G didn't stop Jon Miller from leaving for SF? (altho....could you blame Jon for doing that anyway?)
Guys like the Hawk and Stirling et all are what make those broadcast entertaining and fun to watch. And Carp and FP are rising fast on that list.![]()
Joe Morgan.
The two best (as in entertaining) announcers of all time were Hawk and Dizzy Dean. Kevin Millar would be great too if he ever had that job.
The ones that are the most painful to watch are those that try to make baseball seem like some highly complex strategic challenge - Tim McCarver is the worst of this lot.
Michael Kay is also extremely painful to watch. He's constantly carrying on about obscure statistics going back decades in an apparent attempt to do what - I don't know. Just announce the damn game and throw in some humor.
