somebody has to play 3rd....they don't have a decent defensive 3b on the roster or in the minors....if this team makes any moves before the trade deadline, addressing 3b needs to be at the top of the list...

Davis and Hardy in deep slumps. Hard to score when your 2 and 3 hitters are horrible and your RF and LF's are replaced by guys that belong in AA. Duquette made it very clear today he has no interest in Soriano. My suggestion: release N Johnson, trade for Thome to be DH and keep looking for a LF and 3B

I say dump Reynolds or put him at DH and leave him there, and get an adequate fielding 3B. Also send Flaherety (sp?) down. We need one more starting pitcher as well. Chen didn't seem to have it today, but he still kept his team in the game and giving up 3 runs, that should be a game we win.

He's pretty much been an infielder his entire playing career, starting at SS in 2001 at age 20...so has his fielding ALWAYS stunk, or just since he got older (reached his later 20s)..anyone know? Even at 30, though, it's not like he should be some decrepit, broken down shell of a player, so maybe he's never been particularly Belanger-like...

Can't send Flaherty down as rule 5 pick. We need guys that are supposed to hit to start hitting. Name one guy in the lineup right now that's hot. Even good lineups go thru stretches like this so we shouldn't be surprised that this lineup is in a deep slump

Yep, it all started w/that Knuckeballer up in New York. Many here predicted that the bats would go Cold.

Maybe, but I don't remember hitting too well in Atlanta either. 2 runs, 5 runs, 2 runs.

Been saying it all along....when Hardy, AJ, Matt and Nick don't hit this team will struggle.

Betemit, Chavez, Andino, Nick Johsnon and so on are not everyday players.
They will not produce enough over the long haul for this team to win any type of high scoring game....which does happen from time to time.

The pitching will have to carry this team. UNLESS....they go out and buy a bat.

IMO, I've been pleasantly surprised with the pitching thus far....sure it'shad some bumps. But what an improvement over the past.

    'Some' bumps. ROFLMBO.

I predict that road will get a bit bumpier w/King Al locked in loaded and the AL's answer to Prince Bryce coming on strong as well as ANA as a whole finally starting to play like gang busters.

2 of 3 from Washington, so naturally you move on to the next series that Baltimore will "definitely" lose. It has to suck to be wrong constantly so far this season.

Let's see if I'm wrong this time. ANA is rolling right now.
