Congratulations to my nephew, Malik Jones, who is the first Dunbar player to committ to U of Md in over a decade!! He was offered after a strong showing at DE. He first caught their attention with his play LT.

Congrats to the young man on this achievement. Maryland has definitely been recruiting on the local scene much heavier this year. Hopefully it will continue and help turn around that program.
We have seen their results at Gilman, Friendship, Good Council and even McDonogh. Anybody know if they have a chance any any of the talent at Calvert Hall or ECA?
Calvert Hall's Class of 2013 isn't loaded with D1 talent. I think the only kid that has a chance at a Maryland offer is Delando Johnson and from what I have read about him, he's holding out for Ohio State. Kennedy Frazier might be the only other player in that Class from CHC that would get an offer.
Maryland has offered a couple of ECA players but they don't seem to high on MD.
Maryland will definitely offer some of CHC's young talent from the classes of 2015, 2016 & possibly 2014. A handful of the younger players along with Johnson and Frazier were at Maryland's camp yesterday. They offered Rahshaun Smith yesterday and took notice of some other young players from the classes of '15 & '16 after a great showing at The Terps last camp of the summer. CHC will probably end up having 5 or 6 D1 players each from the classes of 2015 & 2016. Whether Edsall offers is another story. He is a peculiar guy. When Da'Quan Davis and Trevor Williams de-committed from WVA, many big time schools came calling with offers, including a handful of SEC, Big 10, & Big 12 schools, but not Maryland. Maryland didn't even offer Trevor Williams last summer after a dominant performance at their camp against a defensive player they offered on the spot. This was before Locksley came on board. However, Locksley is no dummy. I think they will offer more CHC kids in the future.
