did the calculator--- no mention of paying more in taxes...in fact no mention of anything except I won't be eligible for assistance....so please do explain how much more in taxes I'm going to pay....I'm guessing you have the magic key to tell me since the one the paper is using or maybe the truth is there aren't going to be tax increases because of this...
here's the erroneous information I received based on having an employer provided plan, married, just me and my spouse and 90K AGI....
Your coverage:
Right now:Your insurer cannot set a lifetime limit on benefit payouts. Any annual limits will be phased out by 2014.
Your insurer cannot cancel your plan after you get sick based on a technicality, or discriminate against your children if they have a pre-existing condition.
You may also be entitled to coverage of preventive services without out-of-pocket charges.
If you are an adult under age 26, and one or both of your parents have a health plan, they may be able to put you on it. If you have adult children you can probably keep them on your plan until they are 26.
Starting in 2014:Insurers can’t discriminate against you for having a pre-existing condition, and can only vary rates within a narrow range.
If the plan offered by your employer doesn’t meet the law’s standards of affordability or comprehensiveness, you can buy a different plan through your state’s exchange. Based on your income, you probably would not qualify for federal assistance to offset the cost of that plan.
maybe you can give me the correct multi thousand dollar figure I'm supposed to pay.....how soon can you get that me? for the record, my health insurance is considered a gold standard plan that costs me $420 a month....and living in Texas, there won't be a state exchange.....so what's the cost?
How much you wanna bet the "tax increase" will be negligible or at least bearable to those families actually affected by it ?
I don't believe the republicans when it comes to Obama because so much of what they say about him is unsubstantiated, untrue or exaggerated. Two thirds of the American public can tell you little to nothing about ACA or what it is.
All republicans can tell you or will tell you about it, before it's even gone into affect, is that it is going to cost a crippling amount to every family and household in the country.
Based on their previous hyperbolic predictions...I'll wait and see for my self.
p.s. Obamacare, as it's called, will be helpful to me personally.
I played with the calculator and changed my situation to uninsured married with the same AGI-- fine is >$1400, changed to single with same AGI >2000....in other words if I felt like saving money and rolling the dice, I'd pay less in fines than what I do in premiums...people will figure that out eventually and decide to accept the risk knowing in a true emergency they cannot be turned away because declaring bankruptcy is still an option...no one will really notice as the majority of personal bankruptcy is due to medical costs...
I'd rather pay taxes for Americans healthcare vs spending money building infrastructure, hospitals, and schools in Iraq
What's the relevance of your question to the question I asked? That wasn't even directed at you I might add
Moving on
That's so gay.
