Default U.S. Presbyterians, Episcopals debate gay ceremonies

(Reuters) - Two Protestant churches are set to review policies on same-sex marriages, as popular opinion moves toward favoring such unions and the growing number of states allowing them creates a dilemma for church leaders.
"This would be a gross departure from the worldwide church," she said. "The growing movement is a secular movement. Shall we follow the culture, or shall we follow the Bible? That is the dividing line."

I am sorry but The Bible? Really? The Bible is a nice historical document. It even has a few wise admonitions and advice. But its not the word of God nor does it make much sense to completely shape modern society around its tenents. BUT I do think a Church should be allowed to believe whatever it wants as long as it doesn't try to force those beliefs on the secular community or spend mega millions to defeat Civil rights for Gays, as did the Moronic Mormon Church, who believe God lives on a planet named Kolub and that Jesus has his own planet as well.

    Yes, the Bible, really.

What exactly do you expect Christians to base their religious beliefs on - Atlas Shrugged ?

Not forcing their beliefs on the secular community ? I agree.

But did the Mormon Church spend millions buying guns, then use those guns to threaten to kill anyone against their marriage stance ? I don't think so.

btw - Aren't you a Romney supporter ? You know, the anti-homosexual Mormon...

No. But so what. What has that got to do with the price of apples?
They did spend millions to take away freedom and civil rights from Gay people.

I am a registered Independent, who will not under any circumstances be voting for Obama. Who I actually vote for remains to be seen, except it won't be Barakka H. Obama. No F-ing way.

    Me, too.

But unlike you, I'm an independent thinker.

Which means I will cast my vote for Romney this November without having to apologize to my fellow sodomites... LOL

Well glad you are voting for Romney. ABO is the way to go. I have no need to apologize to anyone. You are the one who should be apologizing for your neanderthal point of view on gays.
