    Default Usain Bolt

Clearly, he is human, and beatable. Yohan Blake beat him in both the 100 & 200 at the Jamaican Olympic Trials. Will there be a new Olympic sensation this year?

I would not be at all surprised to see a Jamaican sweep in the 100 next month. The US has no one to beat Blake & Bolt and Asafa Powell looks to be back just in time. Tyson Gay, in another month, may be able to break up the sweep, but I don't see Justin Gatlin doing it.

The Olympic sensation will be Oscar Pistorius, was named to the 400 meters and the 400 meter relay today. Just shows you that millions of dollars can buy your way into the Olympics (he's 13 seconds faster then the 2nd fastest man in the world without both limbs).

I haven't really decided how I feel about the Oscar Pistorius situation. I have a hard time believing that his blades don't (or can't) give him an edge over his natural ability. But then, what do I know? Maybe they don't.

Man, did I ever get that all wrong.

Gatling looked very good. Powell pulled up lame. That may be a plus for the US come relay time, although I would have liked to have seen how fast Jamaica could go in the replay. I think with a healthy Powell, plus Bolt, Blake and either Frater or Carter, they could break 37.

No one would watch sports if we always got it right.

That was some 100 meters, the greatest field of all time, and Bolt rocked.

Bolt is not human, he got beat by blake in trials because he got lazy. Do you blame him, when he puts his mind to it, he blows away everybody. I don't pay alot of attention, but i was impressed with Gatlin, when I saw him running I thought, man he's got to be closing in on 40, he's been around forever.

As if there is any doubt, Bolt confirmed he's the greatest sprinter of all time.

Frater & Carter say, "who needs Asafa Powell?"

but here's what no one really wants to talk about because he is such a great story and not bulging like ben johnson .......

“When people ask me about Bolt, I say he could be the greatest athlete of all time,” Carl Lewis told the Times of London. “But for someone to run 10.03 one year and 9.69 the next, if you don’t question that in a sport that has the reputation it has right now, you’re a fool. Period.”

Jamaica’s Yohan Blake, who just won the silver in the 100 and 200, tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug prior to the 2009 World Championships. Teammates Julian Dunkley and Steve Mullings have also been caught doping.

What are the odds that a tiny, island country suddenly dominates global competition…just because?

    http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2012/08/...d-you-know-it/

this is a pretty intense claim ......

Bolt reportedly has been working with Angel Hernandez, too. Hernandez used to be called Angel Heredia, back when he was a chemist for BALCO and later “Source A,” who supplied the documents that helped convict Marion Jones, Tim Montgomery, C.J. Hunter and Justin Gatlin. Gatlin just took bronze in the 100, behind Bolt and Blake.

    another good article ....
