I have to agree.

And I also suspect he's not as liberal as some folks think. Every now and then, when he talks or jokes around, the way he was raised shows through, and I wouldn't call it a white bread and butter liberal unbringing.

So why are political pundits any different then comedians?

Comedians are usually funnier and bring better and more varied material into the conversation. I mean politics are funny, sure, but so are sex, drugs, beer, marriage, and rock and roll.

I agree. I'd rather listen to George Carlin or Richard Pryor discuss politics and social issues than any pundit. Their material is still pretty relevant today even after they've been gone for a while...

Exactly! It really bugs me when people say "if you don't like this country, move somewhere else!" If you don't like this country, its well within your rights to say it. Some show little respect, but they're still within their rights, which some on here seem to forget.

Not really. I would like to live in a state where gay marriage is legal, and I could easily afford to do so. My family, friends, and career are all here, so while I criticize Maryland for its issues, I still love living here.

And it has people saying "Chris Rock" which is a positive for this guy. Or any of these types- actors, comedianes, talk show hosts..even moreso for the folk like Rock who are edging past their relevance. Celebs can go from largely forgotten to being all over the news in hours with our new media. It makes sense to use that, even as it slowly sucks the life out of us.
