Duke wins this game with his Gonzo and Pearce pickups.

Wasn't really a lot to say about this game. Everything worked out.

Locker combo can chime back in when Gonzo has a bad inning.

I tell you what, I like Gonzalez. He doesn't have great stuff but he throws strikes and gets hitters out. Take note, Arrieta and Matusz.

I disagree. He does have great stuff 94 mph fastball, effective curve a nice dropping split finger pitch and he makes lots of hitters miss the ball with late movement, good control. Plain and simple he misses bats and hides the ball well giving hitters less reaction time. He is pretty good. I don't see why it won't continue.

Problem with Hunter and Arietta is that they don't locate well and have no deception and it's easy to follow the ball out of the windup. Neither pitcher has an out pitch either, Gonzales has deception, good splitter and can hit both corners.

They aren't haters, they are "factually correct realists."

Arrieta has an out pitch, he just never executes it.
