Weekend Wrap: Shane Cockerille an Elite 11 quarterback

Maryland's 2013 football recruiting class includes one of the top 11 quarterbacks in the country.
Gilman senior Shane Cockerille, who pledged to the Terps in April, was named an Elite 11 quarterback over the weekend.
The Elite 11 quarterbacks are selected after six regional combines during the spring. Twenty-four signal-callers are then invited to California to compete for the honor.
Rivals.com analyst Mike Farrell was impressed by Cockerille from Day One of the competition.
Cockerille is a very thick, muscular lefty with a compact release and a lot of zip on the ball. His footwork isn't great, but he can sling it. His accuracy will improve once he gets his feet down.
