Default Crybabies, stoics and patriots at the Olympics

    Upon getting a gold medal:

Women cried 3x more than men.

Chinese winners cried at ~half the average rate.

UK winners cried at more than double the average rate.

    Discuss.

I cry when we lose and I cry when we win and I cry watching practically all medal ceremonies. I'm tearing up just thinking about it.
To retaliate in kind would do nothing but intensify the existence of hate in the universe. Along the way of life, someone must have sense enough, and morality enough, to cut off the chain of hate. ~~ MLK

Culture by location or by gender? Or does it just depend on the individual?

Reading your accounts of crying just make me want to cry.
