I'm 29, married with a beautiful baby girl for the record. Look I overreacted and I apologize, I'm just tired of the negativity and sometimes it gets to me. I get your point about Tyrod and no this is not some sarcastic statement, I'm humbling myself and acting like a man.

yea, thx, I was a bit overly testy myself so I understand where you could take my post literally and it would make no sense but it obviously only becomes an issue if flacco becomes hurt .......

and in reality, how many teams in the nfl could lose their starting qb for the season and still be a serious contender? ........

I think the real question is can your backup hold the fort down if your starter misses a couple games .......

can tyrod win a game or two and keep us pointing in the right direction until joe gets back? .......

    take care, go ravens .......

You make some good points, Tyrod looks like he has regressed. However I don't know who is available that could be viewed as reliable at this point. When the Ravens signed Bulger in 2010 that was during the uncapped season. With the salary cap in place the Ravens don't appear willing to spend extra money on a more reliable backup QB, that was their approach last year as well. The Ravens don't have a lot of cap space and they have more pressing areas that they need to address outside of backup QB. I'm not sure if Tyrod can hold things down if Joe were to get hurt but I don't think the Ravens are going to get anyone else.

Taylor hasn't
no need for the race card, or name calling. whys so sensitive???????

Flacco has never missed a game in 4 years. For a QB in the NFL that is quite an accomplishment.

If Flacco does get hurt, I am concerned that the Ravens will have a losing season.

This defense is not able to carry the team, like it did in years past.

An injured Flacco, Tyrod as a replacement equals losing season.

Even a healthy Flacco w/Shy Ty parked on the bench could = losing season. In fact.....the way you looked Friday and the 1st half the week B4....that's what I'm betting.

Seriously dude? Were you not around when the thread was created about the defense supporting Troy Smith and why?

With an African American as GM it will be hard to scream racism if the Ravens decide to go with Painter as the backup instead of Taylor. But im sure the usual suspects will still say it is. How's Troy Smith been doing so the Ravens correctly decided to let him go? Not so good huh.

I don't like Tyrod Taylor or Curtis Painter as Joe's backup. Call me crazy and I'm sure you guys will, but I would vote to bring Kyle Boller out of retirement before handing the ball over to one these two.

Are you saying the defense would take a black QB as #2 over a white guy because he is black regardless of who has the best chance to lead the team if Joe gets hurt?

    You're crazy.

Boller gave his best while he was here, the guy got crap beat out of him and hung tough. No one can say the guy didn't have heart, toughness or give it his best shot.

But he just didn't have the talent, or IMHO, the mentality for the position.

I'll say I'm not thrilled with those two guys as backup. Tyrod has no touch, all his passes are thrown the same way, on a line. And Painter kinda reminded me of Kyle last year. But he was playing with a crappy team.

Maybe they respect atheltic QB's because they can relate better. Thats why most defense players love Tim Tebow. These guys are looked as real football players compare to pocket passers. Mean if they were forced to they could play another position on the field

I am sure you are joking right? Boller was a bust. Taylor is not my cup of tea. i did like Dennis Dixon. we might get some one after the cut date.

I agree with the OP. Taylor is a horrible backup. I have seen enough of him to know he is a Troy Smith clone only can run faster. He cannot read a defense or make any kind of a throw with touch. He isn't even as good as Anthony Wright as a backup, although I would never in a million years consider having Boller as a backup as someone said. I would take Chris Redman or Derek Anderson as a backup over that clown who retired long after he should have. I would take Painter as the backup over Tyrod anyday. He plays about like his name suggests (a car part).

Why is it in today's world, the reason for failure has to be explained in long details.

It makes no difference if its business, sports or construction.

You can get the job done or you can't get the job done.

Long story short, Boller could not get the job done.

I hope Flacco never misses even a series of downs, much less a game. But the day will come when he suffers some type of injury.

If Tryod is the replacement, look for the Ravens to have a losing season.
