Default I think we're in for a rude awakening!

Yeah, I think it's gonna be that kind of year.

    3rd in AFC North, 8-8, maybe 9-7.

Of course I hope I'm wrong.

You might actually be being somewhat generous.

I don't think Cincy is going to have a great year, but I see the Ravens finishing between 7-9 and 9-7.

Yeah, I hope I'm wrong, too, but I definitely think this is going to be a tough year. Maybe 8-7 heading into that final game at Cincy. The biggest problem is the O line -- they struggled last year, and have now lost Grubbs, Birk is a year older and banged up, and McKinnie's best-case scenario is to be as average as he was last year.

Also the defense is gutted without Suggs and Jarrett Johnson. Pass rush is going to be weak and the run defense will be a step down from last year. Maybe only the secondary will be as good as last year.

If the Ravens are going to be a playoff team this year, it's all going to be on Flacco, leading them to some 30-27 wins. With this weak O Line, I just worry he won't be able to do it.

And speed or not, the Ravens have no solid "go to" WRs who can be depended on NOT to drop the ball.

The lack of a big pass rush will surely be problem this season.

I'll bet if I went digging through the archives, I'd find a thread from last year, just like this one.

Except this time the concern and dread is legit.

And you said the same thing last year. 6 wins for the Ravens in 2011.

Why did you give up on your NFL scheduling theory?

Uh huh. And the Orioles were going to collapse in May June July August, while the Red Sox were going to put on a huge surge.

Hard to say so early. There are concerns but they also have a strong core or leaders.

I still think they are playoff bound if injuries do not ham string them.

Your Deadsox have no pitching. They will be lucky not to finish last in their division.

I agree. For all the concern about the O line, it's not like they can't go out and get a strong addition to it when the final cuts are announced. It's way too early for any serious predictions

They have a tough schedule this year and some questions on both sides of the ball.

However, there are two pre season games left. Let's see what moves Ozzie makes before the season starts.

And we still have some very good players on the team. Too early to call it a season now.

I'm thinking you left out a word there. Since it's technically up for grabs....I'll take a shot at it and predict you ommitted 'questionable.'

'My' Red Sox? Couldn't care any less about them....sorry. I do think they'll finish 2012 w/a better record than the Orioles tho. *shrug*

Yup...what was Super Bowl winning coach the great Brian Billick's quote about every year the Ravens fan pi$$ down their leg?

You can set your watch to it.

    wow.

2 games into pre-season is not the time to panic.
