Technically, there's only one full month left of the Presidential campaign.

Obama has spent enough on ads. They've done an excellent job of defining Mitt Romney.

The next three weeks will be free publicity from the party conventions. In October, both candidates will get free publicity from the debates. I'll be glad when its all over. This election has been annoying.

And yet Romney is basically dead even in Colorado with Obama. In fact, Romney was down by a lot and has made up a lot of ground. Sounds like Obama could use 100 field offices.

The attack ads suggesting Romney is a felon or murderer go beyond the pale. Then he attempts to deny that is what is being portrayed.

They don't. In your world anything that Obama says is dishonest.

    Moderate on!

I never said that but you can spin it that way if you like - does not mean you are right.

Here's a brief blog entry that summarizes the problem:

    http://charlesrowley.wordpress.com/2...st-but-verify/

I like the part that says: "The candidates themselves desire the trust but fear the process of verification. And so tensions always arise and, in many instances, are not resolved."

The media (both sides) cherry-pick, spin, and amplify information or sound-bites that makes their candidate look better. Because of this, the natural tendency is to stall and hope the issue dies off. They've all done this.

It's becomes a giant pssin' contest that the general public rarely looks at objectively.

The Democrats are the party of government handouts, welfare dwellers, illegal aliens, taxes (never met a tax or illegal alien they didn't like), intolerance and hate, protectors of the rights of criminals instead of their victims (soft on crime), Union thugs, the lazy, socialized medicine, Wall Street (Obama and the Dems recieved the most from Wall Street campaign contributions), etc.

For want of a better word, this strikes me as kind of, well...masturbatory?

But wait, there's still a couple of months for gas prices to escalate to the magic $4.00 per gallon level, the "obese lady" has not yet warmed up her vocal pipes.

Four years gas prices top 2008 level

“U.S. drivers are paying an average of $3.72 per gallon on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012. That's the highest price ever on this date, according to auto club AAA, a shade above the $3.717 average on Aug. 20, 2008.”

Yep, Obama beat Bush on yet another front, gasoline prices.

Right about now, Obama must be wondering how he can get all the oil in the strategic petroleum reserves put into the refineries, in a last ditch desperate effort to win a few more votes from weak minded voters.

How’s that “Hope and Change” working, people?
