Would probably be better than waiting for the mailman to give him the high point of his life. Anyway, his prediction of 73 wins and yours of .500 unattainable were way off the mark but there were others that were far worse. If you'd like to become an elite predictor in 2013, predict 84-78.
There were well over 200 posts to the prediction thread so a few folks must be interested.
If you're going to send a post to God, please use a capital "G." Also since mail delivery is the high point of your young life, consider asking God for something other than becoming the next Hector. Don't aspire to the impossible, just try to be the best dandrews you can be.
It was actually pretty exciting to see images of playoff tickets in the Baltimore Sun. Not that I'll be receiving any in the mail or can afford to go. It's just exciting because it's sort of a tangible sign that we're *that* close. I think the last time they printed Orioles playoff tickets was 1997, and not just because that was the last year we were in the playoffs, that was also the last year we were close enough late in the season to warrant even printing and pre-selling the things.
1997 was a long time ago. I think I was in high school. I'm now in my 4th decade. Children born in '97 are in high school today sneaking Natty Boh's out of their fathers' refrigerators listening to the games with their buddies on the radio somewhere in the woods, or making out with their girlfriends. It's been that long since the Orioles have been playoff contenders.
I hope the O's game can make this thing happen. Even a wild card one game and out scenario would be a huge step forward for this organization. Though, of course, once you get there, you start thinking World Series. But that's just the way of things.
