I did not put a target on SFA's back, the person who proclaimed them as "the #1 JV team in the state" took care of that. No one I know of has ill will for SFA. However, you guys didn't do yourselves any favors either.
St Frances moving to the A and circumventing the B for two years is political. Yes, the are recruiting like crazy and bringing in a ton of players. However, they may be putting the cart in front of the horse every way imaginable. Playing in the B for two seasons will not hurt your program long term, minus the players who were told they would be playing in the A conf when they were recruited. You guys are risking long term stability (regardless of the coffers who may be helping and politicking for you) in order to make a huge move now. You guys (JV & especially varsity) will get your shot next season. I know SFA has a good staff. However, there will be no weeks off or gimmes and you will face top notch coaching every week.
There is also the off the field stuff such as admissions policies, academics, ect, ect. Much of the current policies will have to change when SFA moves up to the A as well. This is the kind of stuff that can be difficult for long established football programs, let alone a new program moving at an extremely fast pace. It's going to be a huge undertaking and very taxing on everyone involved.
