In all honesty, SFA fielded a JV team playing under the guise of a F/S team. They should have played a JV schedule this season. All of the best freshmen & sophomores not on varsity in the MIAA play JV football. All of St Frances' best players not on varsity played against considerably less talented freshman teams. If St Frances truly wanted to challenge themselves, they would have played a JV schedule this year instead of fielding a JV team and playing down in the fresh-soph league against lesser competition for the sake of looking good.

You said it 92 they beat the MSJ Fresh team 18-6. I'm not so sure if they would beat any of the MIAA A JV teams this year. I do know 3 of the JV teams would have have put a serious beat down on them.

I'd heard that the MIAA was having JV & F/S championship games. The F/S championship is set for Nov. 7th and the JV title game is being held on Nov. 8th. I verified it with an email to the MIAA. If CHC wins out against Spalding & Loyola (definite possibilities), they will host the JV game. Their opponent has yet TBD.

If CHC wins out and Gilman wins against McDonogh it will be Gilman and CHC for the Championship. Spalding's JV isn't very good, so CHC will win. Gilman's JV is pretty depleted now but I think they can still beat McDonogh.

Not so fast my friend! McDonogh's #9 will gash Gilman for multiple scores. If the Eagles win would MSJ then take on CHC for the championship? According to the MIAA official, the tie breaker for tied teams would be points scored. If MSJ, McD & Gilman all had 3-2 records then you better hope that your JV ran up the scores this season.

There you go not knowing what you talking about, there's only 6 soph on the team. Hell Dematha canceled there game against them last week. Believe you JV will get there change next year and then what you going to say.

I had heard that the McDonogh JV was good but they just got blasted by MSJ. Wondering if they did the Gilman thing and brought up players to the Varsity.

I think it is total points scored in games lost.

The MIAA teams that played St Frances had zero sophs. I stand by my post. SFA fielded a JV team and played in the Freshman league. Once again, the best freshmen in the MIAA not playing varsity are on jv teams. SFA's best freshmen not on varsity (and 6 sophs) played fresh soph. Some of your own coaches were calling them a JV team.

Default CHC JV secures home field advantage

CHC beat Archbishop Spalding 42-0 this afternoon and secured a home game for the A Conference Championship. Riley Miller was the star on defense, Kevin "KT" Thomas on offense and Morgan Scroggins torched the Cavaliers with long punt returns all day. Next up: The Loyola Dons @ Loyola on Nov. 1st at 2:30pm.

CHC beat Loyola 21-14 earlier this afternoon to finish the regular season 8-1. The 1st MIAA JV championship game between the Cardinals and Gilman Greyhounds is set for Nov. 8th, time TBD at CHC. CHC beat Gilman last month 14-0.

Default A Changing of the Guard

I heard Dunbar's JV didn't play for the championship this season. Word is that Carver played Mervo for the title. Don't know who won but the Dunbar stranglehold on the JV title is over.

Mervo's JV is young and deep, should be a good one Thursday? good luck to coach Corey Davis of Carver and Sean Nelson of Mervo. Number 2 from Carver is the best back in the city and he dosent even look like he really knows what he is doin yet?

Ok. I thoght the game had been played already. Too bad it's being held the same day and time as the Calvert Hall/Gilman JV championship game. Good luck to Coach Corey and His young men.

A lot of people say negative things when they don't what there talking about and getting there butts handled too also. I was one of the coaches and there was only 6 soph ,2 starters it wouldn't make a difference plus MIAA made this decision not SFA. Take it up with them, or maybe it was just better coaching and better players. We will see next year when both team are playing in the MIAA A conference and that a bet cause all I will see is silence. Trust me SFA will be stacked with players on both sides of the ball.

Next Year New to MIAA A Conference:
    St. Frances Academy
    St Paul
