Take it up with them, or maybe it was just better coaching and better players. We will see next year when both team are playing in the MIAA A conference and that a bet cause all I will see is silence. Trust me SFA will be stacked with players on both sides of the ball.

Next Year New to MIAA A Conference:
    St. Frances Academy
    St Paul
You obviously missed my point. I was saying all along SFA had better players and played against less talented teams all season. Once again, the best freshmen who do not make varsity in the MIAA A do not play fresh/soph, they play JV. Not only that, there are no sophomores I know of on fresh/soph teams in the MIAA. Therefore St Frances did not match up with the best freshmen in the league one time this season. We'll never really know how good they really are. Your comment about people saying negative things and getting their butts handed is way out of context and does not figure into simple facts stated by both of us. You surely must understand how it works if you are a SFA F/S coach.

I did not put a target on SFA's back, the person who proclaimed them as "the #1 JV team in the state" took care of that. No one I know of has ill will for SFA. However, you guys didn't do yourselves any favors either.

St Frances moving to the A and circumventing the B for two years is political. Yes, the are recruiting like crazy and bringing in a ton of players. However, they may be putting the cart in front of the horse every way imaginable. Playing in the B for two seasons will not hurt your program long term, minus the players who were told they would be playing in the A conf when they were recruited. You guys are risking long term stability (regardless of the coffers who may be helping and politicking for you) in order to make a huge move now. You guys (JV & especially varsity) will get your shot next season. I know SFA has a good staff. However, there will be no weeks off or gimmes and you will face top notch coaching every week.

There is also the off the field stuff such as admissions policies, academics, ect, ect. Much of the current policies will have to change when SFA moves up to the A as well. This is the kind of stuff that can be difficult for long established football programs, let alone a new program moving at an extremely fast pace. It's going to be a huge undertaking and very taxing on everyone involved.

Why would the off field stuff change when the bball program has been using this approach for years. They consistently get in kids that would not qualify at any other member school. Heck, they are even circumventing the procedure of promotion in conferences bypassing the 2 yrs in the B. Those sisters defintely have some power on Chase St.

Gilman JV shocks the JV fball world by knocking off the undefeated Cardinals in another hard fought game between the two teams, 6-0. 80 yd run by Jelani Roberts was the only score of the game.

Wow, thats crazy! Gilman probably has 19 players on their JV right now. Was just talking about Jelani last weekend at the City-Poly game. Great athlete just needs size. Big time track athlete though, so if he's in the open field it is over.

Future at Gilman is beyond bright! With its 8th grade team and the young studs in the high school, it's scary for the rest of the MIAA. Now for the big boys to take care of business. I'm trying to change my plans so that I can make it there this weekend for the games.

Had to head back to Annapolis after the game for a statewide conference. The last session of the day just ended so now I can post my observations. Congratulations to Gilman on their hard fought victory. Gilman had 27 kids suited up tonight. A bad way to end the season but the young Cardinals acquitted themselves very well over the long season. Coach Davis is getting some talented kids up on the varsity next season.

They probably brought up some kids from the Fresh/Soph team for the game. They definitely needed more bodies. Big win for the Gilman kids, especially at CHC.

    Default New champs!

Mervo 34 to 6 over a game but out gunned Carver team, good job by both teams and coaching staff's. Mervo is big strong and fast, Carver has a whole team to move up next season. Very good game last nite full of action and lots of talent all over the field. Would love to see a Mervo Gilman rematch of the first scrimage of the year, who knew?

Wow, Mervo and Gilman champs in their respective leagues, who knew that it was the scrimmage of champions. Mervo was just getting adjusted to the new staff and obviously they did a great job with them. Former Patty coach leading the D, congrats to the Mustangs.

Top dollar could be made on this rematch, great job Gilman on a huge win over CHC. Someone needs to set this one up, both teams big strong and plenty of fire works at the skill positions. Instant classic and a great look into the future of each program.
