As per my predictions, pretty much dead on to this point. See my post #2, especially the third sentence on the Stanford game, and BYU - dead on:

"IMO, ND will lose it's first game against Stanford. They have a pretty good replacement for Luck. That game is still in Indiana, where Notre Lame gets favorable home cooking from the refs, so if the Domers do get bye Stanford, they will lose against Oklahoma (FINALLY, a on the road game ). And last but not least, there's USC to be played in SoCal. USC is not looking stellar right now, but by seasons end, I expect them to be clicking and will kick some Irish butt.

If the BYU-ND game was in the thin air of Utah, I'd say BYU wins...but it's not. But I expect that game to be close...I think BYU is a better team than most East Coast folks give them credit.

There's absolutley no way the ND is a top ten team. That will be born out in October. I predict they will end the season ranked somewhere between 15-20, which, IMO, where they should be ranked."

Oh, and Stanford didn't lose, they got robbed by home cookin' in SB, Indiana (as I said they would). The video does not lie...nor does Mike Pereira, former NFL vice president of officiating and current rules analyst at Fox Sports:

I stand by everything I said. Yes, have fun on Saturday. Now that the Lamers are finally playing out of SB, against a quality team, we'll see how they do? If they win on Saturday, I will become a believer.

However, if they lose, then I will simply say, "They are who we thought they are".

Hey Slap, are you really Skip Bayliss? He thinks ND is overrated too.

    Slap....where r you?

As I quote from an article this morning "It's OK to believe now, too. Not impressed by a buffet of Big Ten wins (Purdue, at Michigan State, Michigan)? Thought the Irish were lucky in beating Stanford in overtime and then hanging on against BYU? Understandable.

But this wasn't any of that. This was a road win against a member of a club only Notre Dame and a select few are in. This was at Oklahoma and this was a head-kicking."

We're waiting for your , shall I say, usual "lengthy" rhetorical response

Oh, and ND didn't beat Michigan. No, no. Denard, Michigan's QB, beat Michigan that day. Six unforced turnovers, and a record 5 from Denard sealed Blue's fate....and, IMO, any false hopes that he might make it as a NFL QB. No chance.
    What a crock.
Who won the game? Very simple question..who won the game?

Slapshot works in my Dept at UMd. I heard he had surgery this past Thursday, so probably won't be replying anytime soon.

    But I'll take a shot.

Since I didn't watch the game, I have no idea, but based on you tone and avatar, I'll take a wild guess and say Notre Dame?

Good for you. Now, back to life for me.

How classy of you to make light of my surgery. Spent 5 days in the hospital, and the last thing i was thinking about was football. Get it, clown?

But as I said in my previous post (post #21) - if ND beats Okl, I will become a believer. They did, so I am. Yes, ND is for real.

Great win, ND beat a team that lost to 1AA Youngstown by 10 and also lost to football power Syracuse. Youngstown has lost to North Dakota State, Illinois State, Southern Illinois, and south Dakota State. Yet Youngstown beats Pitt in regulation by 10 and ND on their own field has to take them to overtime? This was a gift. Fourth down trailing 20-6 maybe the worse call of the year on a pass interference call (Mike Mayok) said it was an awful call. Pitt should have had the ball there. ND beats Purdue in the end by 3 over a Purdue that is 0-5 in the Big 10 including getting blown out by Minnesota.
Is ND a good team, yes. But they are not worthy of national championship talk. This is one of those seasons where everything has gone right. An obvious 100 percent touch down that tied that the game vs Stanford was inexplicably ruled that he was down. The runner stuck the ball over the goal line while laying on his own lineman. Even if they didn't rule that in the end zone the runner fumbled the ball and was recovered by Stanford. No argument. Yesterday an awful pass interference call gave them the game. Pitt did miss the field goal but it should have never gotten to that point. They have one very good win at Oklahoma. But please don't give me talk that they should be ranked number 1. There schedule gets tough the next two weeks is against powers Wake Forest and Boston College. Compare their schedule to K. State's. The big 10 sucks this year. they have one good win.

Where did my disdain for ND come from. I will never forget growing up when Notre Dame fans wore Catholics vs Convicts tee shirts against Miami . Code Notre Dame is white Catholics, Miami because they are African American they are convicts. Racism!!!!

This article chronicles all of the blown calls this year that have gone in Notre Dame's favor. I didn't realize the missed field goal by Pitt in OT should have been replayed. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/201...?sct=obnetwork

You denying it? Looks like it is still going on http://www.cafepress.com/+catholics-vs-convicts+gifts

You need to watch the espn 30/30 on Miami football and see how the Miami players felt about the Notre Dame fans t-shirts.

No, I don't need to do anything, I can think on my own.
I would like to know the graduation rate of Miami back then and put it up against ND’s.
    That was a joke.
Here is something very profound to think about. There is a very, very good football player that will attend ND next year. He said during the recruiting process it came down to one thing and one thing only. He looked at the African American Graduation Rate among ND Football players. The recruiting process came to an end.
Do you really think that Jimmy Johnson or the school gave a bleep about the Miami players graduating back then?
The whole Catholic vs. Convict thing is nothing more than someone being smart, putting it on a T Shirt and making money. Good on em.
