Good! One more game to go....

    I love 'Bama pie.

On a different note, what did folks think of USC's play calling when they had it down inside ND's 5 yard line? I was totally stunned by how poor (unimaginative) the calls were. The SC freshman QB tried his best, but not ready for prime time, not even close. As mentioned previously, ND caught a break with Barkley going out.

So it's always "breaks" with ND? Other teams, they ever get breaks or is just the Irish?

Their defense is terrific, why is that so difficult to concede?

I never understood this animosity toward ND. If they're not playing yr team, why get so invested?

My oldest son and my brother are both alums and in seventh heaven. Good for them

Yep, ND "caught a break" that USC's (former) Heisman candidate QB got injured in a previous game and could not play. Replaced by a Freshman that had never started a game. Fact.

The "Irish" had nothing to do with Barkley's injury. Or do you know something I don't?

One of your students huh. Now I know why you are such an obnoxious know it all: you are a teacher. Those who can do those who cant uh what is the saying?

You have to understand Ms. Maggie: he is a teacher. They have captive audiences everyday who are not in a position to disagree with them. They just have a hard time with people who point out their mistakes. Ask the know it all how SC was doing WITH Barkley at Q B. Ask him how many losses SC had with him.

    Four.

You really want to compare Barkely, with a QB rating of 156, and completion % of 63%.... to a Freshman (Wittek) who had never started a game? Barkely wasn't a Heisman candidate for no reason. Fact: SC stood a far better chance to win with Barkely, than without him.

    To say otherwise, is idiotic.

Idiotic? They lost 4 games w their starting QB . 3 of those against the only ranked teams they played prior to the ND loss. And to their toughest opponent, Oregon, at home. So it's idiotic to assume they were weren't a sure winner vs #1 at home?

And both teams had redshirt frosh qbs

Where did I say anything about SC being a "sure winner", or not?? Too funny.

Yes, it is completely idiotic to think SC stood a "better chance" to win with the non-starter Freshman, than their former Heisman candidate, Barkely.

As to your last comment...Golson (a Sophomore) has been playing all season long, by comparison, Wittek (a redshirt Freshmn) had only played a total of a few minutes - all season - prior to the ND game. No comparison, whatsoever.

Save your breath with Teach. If ND does play Alabamy for the national championship and beats them he will have some BS excuse for that happening. It was too hot, the QB for Alabamy had the flu, Saban had a bad cold, yada yada.

Don't get the joy of do fiercely rooting against another team. Weird. And to be pitied: how soulless to grovel about in the disappointment of others to find satisfaction. Yikes.

RE: "....fiercely rooting against another team. Weird."

Nothing "weird" about it. Clearly, you don't follow sports, because if you did, then you would know, for example, their are 100,000's of Raven fans, and visa versa, that fiercly root against the Steelers or the Browns. In college, the hatred between teams fuels intense rivalries, such as Michigan vs OSU. But you would not know anything about that, would you? LOL.

All that aside, your post is just another deflection, that has absolutely nothing to do with what we are discussing, and you know it. Sad you can't keep on topic...but oh so predictable.

    Ms Maggie,

There's no use in having a discussion about the Irish with Slap, he's an ND hater, found that out 4 years ago when my son was a freshman there. Saturday nite was a awesome game......and WE'RE GOING TO MIAMI.

Oh, and he'll use any excuse as to why ND wins a game....ie, the Stanford game he blamed on the rain, LOL

Here is, something you cannot deflect Teach: ND 12-0 and going to Miami for national championship game! After you have been saying for at least the last five games that they would lose. You bring to mind a quote from Napoleon when he said:" I have been wrong so often I cease to blush".

And you sir, are a liar.

Where did I say ND would lose this game? Where? I said with Barkley out, that ND had the edge: see post #59.

Further, in post #31, after beating Oklahoma, I said that ND was the real deal. Not to mention, from the beginning, the only games I thought ND would lose would be Oklahoma (at Norman) and USC (at LA)...and possibly Stanford. So to say that I said ND would lose (at least) the last 5 games is a lie, plain and simple.

Get some new glasses, old man, because you either have reading problems, or comprehension problems. Which is it?

You assume everyone is like you. They're not. When B beats P next Sunday, that ends my interest in the Ravens. My team is done, I get no satisfaction from what B does after that one way or another. In college perhaps. But then you grow up and don't invest so heavily in stuff that is so removed from the joy and pain of your actual life. You might want to get one.

Absolutely NO chance. Purdue (non-ranked) lost by 3 pts, and managed to put up 17pts with just an average+ QB and running game.

Michigan wins that game walking away if Denard can learn how to throw....and no, ND did not cause even half of the 5 interceptions and 1 fumble from Michigan. ND had a good D...but had Michigan been able to not turn over the ball 6 times (5 times in successive passses), Mich walks away with it's 4th straight win over the Domers. Fact: that was the most turnovers for any Michigan team in history, and Denard was a major factor in that fiasco.

IMO, ND will lose it's first game against Stanford. They have a pretty good replacement for Luck. That game is still in Indiana, where Notre Lame gets favorable home cooking from the refs, so if the Domers do get bye Stanford, they will lose against Oklahoma (FINALLY, a on the road game ). And last but not least, there's USC to be played in SoCal. USC is not looking stellar right now, but by seasons end, I expect them to be clicking and will kick some Irish butt.

If the BYU-ND game was in the thin air of Utah, I'd say BYU wins...but it's not. But I expect that game to be close...I think BYU is a better team than most East Coast folks give them credit.

There's absolutley no way the ND is a top ten team. That will be born out in October. I predict they will end the season ranked somewhere between 15-20, which, IMO, where they should be ranked.
    Slap

Your predictions listed above are now null and void, you DID say we would lose against USC....they didnt' "Kick some Irish but" as you posted earlier....kindly re-read your posts.

Don't call someone a liar, as we far as I can see, the only one not being truthful on this post is you ! Always twisting the truth your way

See post # 2 when you predicted that ND would lose , please re-read your posts first before responding !!!!!!!!!

    LOL. You are clueless.

Apparently you haven't been to many (any) Ravens-Browns, or Ravens-Steelers or OSU-Michigans games, etc, etc.

There are 1,000's of fans, for almost any team you can think of, that "hate" or, to quote you, "fiercly root against" a rival or another team (for whatever reason).

    It is, what it is.
