Your problem is selective reading in an attempt to fit your agenda. Failed attempt.

    It is, what it is.
I've been to hundreds of Steeler games. And Alabama-Auburn games; and Pitt-WVA games; and FSU-Florida games.

There are many silly people in the world so I don't doubt many share your unnatural obsession with a team that has exactly jack to do with you.

Doubtful, but if true, then you should know exactly what I am talking about. But maybe it's a "man thing", don't know? Know a lot of wives that like football, but to be perfectly honest, are not even 1/10th as passionate, or "into it" as their husbands.

Nevertheless, it's this "obsession", which you speak of, that fuels all great rivalries.

Just a fact of bigtime sports. I work with quite a few folks here at UMCP, who, I assure you, "hate Duke"....and they would have it no other way. Are they "silly"? Don't think so...just passionate about their BB.

Further, in post #31, after beating Oklahoma, I said that ND was the real deal. Not to mention, from the beginning, the only games I thought ND would lose would be Oklahoma (at Norman) and USC (at LA)...and possibly Stanford. So to say that I said ND would lose (at least) the last 5 games is a lie, plain and simple.

Get some new glasses, old man, because you either have reading problems, or comprehension problems. Which is it?
I comprehend you four by four, as we old timers use to say in the service, something im sure you know nothing about, in addition, to Norte Dame football. Just dont have the fortitude to admit you were wrong about the ND football team this year so you are reduced to just hurling infantile insults and sounding juvenile. What is really sad is that the taxpayers in Maryland actually pay you to supposedly teach their children. Read your own posts as cited below before calling someone a liar Twit.

Absolutely NO chance. Purdue (non-ranked) lost by 3 pts, and managed to put up 17pts with just an average+ QB and running game.

Michigan wins that game walking away if Denard can learn how to throw....and no, ND did not cause even half of the 5 interceptions and 1 fumble from Michigan. ND had a good D...but had Michigan been able to not turn over the ball 6 times (5 times in successive passses), Mich walks away with it's 4th straight win over the Domers. Fact: that was the most turnovers for any Michigan team in history, and Denard was a major factor in that fiasco.

IMO, ND will lose it's first game against Stanford. They have a pretty good replacement for Luck. That game is still in Indiana, where Notre Lame gets favorable home cooking from the refs, so if the Domers do get bye Stanford, they will lose against Oklahoma (FINALLY, a on the road game ). And last but not least, there's USC to be played in SoCal. USC is not looking stellar right now, but by seasons end, I expect them to be clicking and will kick some Irish butt.

If the BYU-ND game was in the thin air of Utah, I'd say BYU wins...but it's not. But I expect that game to be close...I think BYU is a better team than most East Coast folks give them credit.

There's absolutley no way the ND is a top ten team. That will be born out in October. I predict they will end the season ranked somewhere between 15-20, which, IMO, where they should be ranked.

No "animosity" /"sour grapes". My reference about Barkley is a mater of fact. Anybody that follows college football knows this....only the "Irish" colored psudo-fan can't see this.

Funny thing is, without my posts, this thread is dead....bandwagoon fans, such as yourself, only show when ND wins. That's right, you are nowhere to be found when they lose. Where ya been the last few years, mom??! LOL. Typical. I was the 2nd poster on this thread responding to a QUESTION posted by another poster, saying I thought ND would not win out. OK, that prediction was wrong. If I was right all the time, I'd be in Vegas more often.

On the flip side, I didn't see your prediction (nor gramps prediction) saying they would win out. Where were you guys, if you thought contrary?? You hide in the shadows like most ND fans...and only come out at night to thump your chest. Too funny.
Where's YOUR prediction, mouth? ND gonna beat Alabama/ georgia? By how much? Come out from the shadows and lay it on the line....I dare you? Then we can see how accurate your predictions are? LOL.

You wanna know why there's sooooo many "ND haters"....ummm, look in the mirror.

Really Nam? MOS please? Where served? College grads being sent to Nam in 72? Tell that BS to somebody young enough to believe it. You really are a disgusting Putz.

All ground action was basically over by middle of 1973. If your lotttery number was below (about) 125 (if memory serves me), and didn't have a medical deferrment, you were sent for logistical support.

And you would have been fragged. Fact.

Graduated from college in 72? Means you were born around 1950 which means you would be 62 and you are calling me gramps? Tripping all over your lies arent you Putz?

    Some exact date -

"United States ground troops left Vietnam by the end of March 1973. Fighting continued, however, as the North and the South accused each other of truce violations. A second cease-fire was signed in June, but the hostilities continued through 1974.

The ultimate fall of South Vietnam began with the capture of Phuoc Long Province in January 1975. Soon more inland provinces were under North Vietnamese control and the major coastal cities had fallen, with little resistance from Southern troops. The war in Cambodia ended on April 16, and the South surrendered on April 30, 1975, as enemy troops entered Saigon."

    Logistical support continued into 1974.

I've been here for 4 years ever since my son was a freshman ( see I actually have ties to the school ) ,and I was poster #3 on this thread..... so I'm not just hopping on the bandwagon now, and I never mentioned Barkely in any of my posts, so why bring that up? And I never try to predict the future of any sports team......just look at where you predicted the Irish to be, no-where near the TOP as we are now. The only reason the thread keeps going is you have to have the last word. Most of us are working....so we may not get on very often.....so get back to class, remember, we are paying your salary Mr UMCP prof.

    PS Spell check bandwagoon

Really? Could have fooled me...here I thought it was about me, and my predictions? Fact is - haven't heard you say much of anything about ND football. For you, it's all about MY predictions. No opinion of your own? You do realize this is a discussion/opinion forum, right? Too funny.

But as to your point - take it up with Omaha. He asked the question. I simply responded to his question.

You should take your own advise...."RE: Topic of the thread is about ND", not about spelling/grammar. When we are graded on spelling, then I will care.

Also, it's not about "how long you have been here". It's about your lack of posts when ND has been struggling - for a number of years under Fat Charlie. You are, and have been conveniently absent from the conversation as long as ND isn't winning....but come out of the shadows when they do. Very typical. Bandwagon fan, if ever I saw one, or if you prefer, bandwagoon.

Now, as to YOUR prediction? You conveniently ignored the question. Com'on, what's it gonna be? I want to see some predictions from the ND wallies...? Put your MOUTH where the heart is....shall we go with: ND 54 - Alabama (or Dawgs) 6 Or are you gonna do what you always do...wait until AFTER the game is played, and if ND wins, come on here to thump your chest...or if the lose, go back into hiding.

The topic is ND football and whether or not they will win out , and they have, My spell check was a jibe for the college professor, Will they win the BCSB bowl? My prediction is a close game, did you actually predict ND 54- Alabama 6? or is that a hint of sarcasm OK, I will say it, don't think ND will come out the winner.....is that what you wanted to hear? See you in January, until then we'll ride high on our horses ( 4 of them to be exact ) as the #1 Football team in the nation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, depending on your perspective, they haven't "won out". One more, very important, game to go. I think the goal for every college team is to achieve "the perfect season". I assure you, every player on ND's team will be greatly disappointed if the year ends, and they finish 12-1. There is no moral victory in finishing 2nd.

If I cared about my spelling, I would have majored in English. Not to mention, important documents, like manuscripts are reviewed many, many times before being published. This Forum hardly warrants any review of spelling.

So, your prediction is a close, but ND win? Like 3-7 point close? Is that correct?

As to my prediction - ND is good, and yes, much better than I thought (re-read that again and let it sink in)....but don't think they've run up against anything like Alabama (i'll leave the Dawgs out of it). Do you? I remember a few years ago all the OSU smack from their fans headed into - two - national championship games. The smack stopped after running into two SEC buzz saws, where OSU was totally humiliated in front of a national audience. OSU fans are just now recovering from those beat-downs, and the bravado is still subdued (even though they too, are 12-0). I simply think SEC teams are operating at a different level than the rest of college football, right now. That said, Alabama by 14-17 pts over ND. I will be anxious to see what Vegas handicappers have to say?

Yes, I was commissioned a Medical Services Corps Officer (not MD). Graduated from college in '71.

Never said when I was discharged, just that i was sent stateside in '73. Do the math, gramps.

Oh, and for the record, I doubt you are a WWII vet (per your screen name). Why? My dad is a WWII vet, and I've spent a lot of time with his friends who are also vets...those that are still alive....and at ages ranging from 85-95, they simply don't have the interest to be blabbing away on the Internet 10X a day, like you do. Time is too short for the greatest generation....not to mention that most are in bed by 9. But I already knew you were a liar.

Now, we're done; vis a vi, dmc's previous post to stay on topic.
