The one in West Virginia should probably spend a tad more time whining about the "dysfunction" in that state instead of bragging about his petitions and emailing the pope complaining and trying to get the current~governor excommunicated or whatever it is he thinks the pope should do to him.
I can't wait for the other one to surface when Help Save Maryland starts their next crusade. It's pretty bad when one of their reps comes on a forum like this and proves that she doesn't even understand the very Voter Question she was complaining about, only to later admit that she might support it after all.![]()
I'm against illegal immigration 100%. If you want to camp out an attachment of ICE officers at every elementary, middle , and high school in Maryland on the first day of school and arrest any family who can't provide proper documentation I'm all for it.
However, I'm also against treating these kids differently than their classmates that they've been in school with since kindergarten. As long as they're educated in our public school systems and their parents are meeting the Maryland tax requirement per the bill that was just voted on, they should be treated the same as any child that lives here.
This in-state tuition for children of non-citizens/illegals will turn out to be a disaster.
So, let's recap - we're counting on parents who have demonstrated an ability to manipulate and cheat the system re: immigration, to all of a sudden not be fraudulent when it comes to filing some paperwork that will save them thousands of dollars a year?
You're right, and you were right. I miscalculated as did Parrot and the Repubs in general- I really though the fervency of the petition drive translated into widespread support for repeal, I guess the thinking was even the demlibs here would think Dream and Redistricting was a step too far- the gambling I can see good arguments for both sides-- well, I even changed my own opinion of Dream, voted against it still, but not upset it passed at all now, but the districting really gets me.
I guess I'm the one out of touch, MOM, Miller & Busch and the rest of the Legislature appear to be doing just what the majority of the electorate wants , so be it.
Man, Blooming Onion must be in a coma. Anyone seen him since the election?![]()
This battle is not over. I will be in Carroll County pushing for the English as official language ordinance. Now it is time for local jurisdictions to take preemptive measures against illegal immigration. If the liberal areas love illegal aliens let them have them. Let Stephanie Rawlings Blake have the "10000 immigrants" she wants to attract to the city. At least we can minimize the effect of illegal immigration and the Dream Act on the counties. At least we can keep community college tuition down by reducing the number of illegal alien students enrolling in them.
Jtown swim, I have many friends in harford County where you claim to live and they are all very strongly opposed to illegal immigration. One of them actually complained at one of the Walmart meetings about Walmart possibly hiring illegal aliens in the store and also in its construction. You will never get me to accept illegal immigration or to support and back illegal immigration as you do.
This is bad for the Hispanic community. Now when I see a college student who is Hispanic I will always wonder if he/she is one of the Dreamers, if they are truly American, if they are truly one of us. There will always be doubt in my mind now. The state government can make me pay taxes to support these people, but in my mind and heart they will always be illegals, outsiders, criminals, and foreigners and they will never be accepted as my equal.
Again democracy was practiced and the majority of voters accepted this innitiative in the whole state. secondly you have always had non americans going to college. They where called permenant residents. Finally I suspect you have always had hese doubts about hispanics. Illegal aliens come from other countries as well and the Anti-Walmart crowd up here is hardly a good sample, it is packed with bigots.

Maybe you should be suspicious of Asian college students, too.

Up to 15 percent of Asian immigrants in the U.S. are here illegally, compared to 45 percent of Hispanic immigrants.

A big question I have is how are you paying taxes if you are illegal? I mean other than sales tax. You have to have a ssn to file income tax. If you are illegal, how do you do that? Have you falsified documents?
Illegal aliens have falsified documents and they usually have multiple IDs which they also use to vote illegally. Illegals do NOT care about the law! If they did they wouldn't be illegal.
And I don't care about the 15% of Asians that are illegal. I do not associate myself with those people and neither does my family. People like that are a disgrace to Asian Americans and most of us are embarassedd by them and want nothing to do with them. We do not let them represent our community. If they are illegal they should also be deported.
