MIAA A Playoffs Set

It's funny that you wait until now to make excuses for a game that occured a month ago and one that was handed to you on a silver platter by McDonogh. CHC was outplayed that night and was lucky to get the win that night. I also believe that CHC is lucky that the MIAA set this tournament up in an asinine way that the semifinals aren't reseeded. I believe CH would have been in serious trouble if they had to play McDonogh again, even with all of your players that you were missing the first time around. CHC may have matured and improved as a team but McDonogh has matured and improved much more. It's just a shame that unless McDonogh pulls off the upset of upsets, we'll never get to see that game.

Waited a month to make excuses? You can't be serious. A McDonogh poster came on here and made every excuse in the book the night of the game. A banged up CHC team missing 10 players including their #1 WR & #1 RB played awful for 3 plus quarters and they still got the W. Don't take it out on me because CHC came back in the 4th quarter and handed McDonogh the L. The CHC play calling for the first 3 quarters of the game was the most predictable I, along with many others (including neutral observers) have seen at CHC. I can break the game down in more detail if you prefer. McDonogh did win the trash talking contest, as a handful of players were barking at the CHC bench and players all night. I agree, it is a shame we will not get to see CHC/McDonogh again.

I agree with you 100%! The MIAA and this BS about CHC and Loyola not being now to play twice has to stop. It's a disservice to the league and grossly biased. Like I said, CHC is VERY lucky that they aren't playing McDonogh now.

You are pretty funny. However, at least you are consistent. If Gilman was missing 10 players in ANY game you would be shouting it from the mountain tops. No one (including me) from CHC mentioned it until they were antagonized by certain people on this board a full month later.

You were not at the CHC/McDonogh game. The last time you saw CHC play outside of the Gilman game was in September. I am quite shocked you haven't found a way to make an absurd statement and claim McDonogh was more competitive with Gilman than CHC was with Gilman.

Football is about matchups and McDonogh matches up very well against CHC. McDonogh is faster than CHC(in fact they are faster than probably every team in the MIAA except maybe Gilman) and they have the DB's to play CHC's passing game. I do believe its wrong and a sham the way the MIAA is doing the playoffs.

I'm upset that I will miss the games this weekend. But I hope to see a Gilman-CHC Championship game next Saturday!

MCD has the second best talent in the League, The reason they didn't finish better rests squarely on the coaching staff. First you had a junior QB who had horrible mechanics, which no one on the staff worked on fixing over the summer. When he was benched and subsequently quit and transferred the staff expected a 130 lb true freshman to be able to handle the pressure of running a spread based offense. That's not fair to the kid. During this freshman QB experimentation stage, the staff was forced to resort to an I formation to establish a respectible running game. That was their first positive move. Then low and behold, when they put the third string senior QB (who by the way was a proven varsity starter in other sports) in desparation, he could actually read defenses and throw the ball accurately. Consequently, the offense became balanced (defenses could no longer cheat and put 9 in the box or blitz LBs every play) and the team became respectible offensively.

Does, MCD have the ability to beat Gilman? Yes, if run man (they do have two senior CBs) and pack the box to stop the run and if their offense can put up three touchdowns. Is it probable, no, but is it possible, yes, remem

I agree with you. Changing their offense was huge for McDonogh. Getting the Wood kid in there was also huge. He looks like a seasoned vet. I also agree with you that McDonogh is the second most talented team in the MIAA, that team I saw in the frat half against Gilman wasn't what I was expecting. Definitely didn't look like a two won team.

Now can McDonogh beat Gilman, I don't think so. And the reason is, I just don't believe they can score enough points in that Gilman defense to win. Gilman had 4 starters not play against McDonogh. I don't think Gilman will play Danny Blair again this weekend just to save him for the Championship game. I think Gilman will wear McDonogh down like they do every team. I see close first half and then Gilman winning by 21-28 points.
