Default 3 reasons why Dunbar vs St Frances is the next great rivalry

    * St Frances football program is growing exponentially...just a matter of time before they walk 7 or 8 blocks down the street to Orleans St and serve notice to the Poets.

    * Did I mention St Frances was about 7 or 8 blocks away from Dunbar.

    * Public vs Private and both are big time inner city schools.....

If St. Frances is really moving into the A conference, Dunbar is in serious trouble. They will take a lot of the kids that would normally go to Dunbar. SFA would become very attractive. Kids would want to play against the better competiton than what is becoming an increasingly watered down city league and weak 1A.

I would love to see that game, specially because SFA is only losing 6 seniors from this team. That would be a nice game under the lights.

I agree. Plus they are going to get players from Western Baltimore County. Franklin may start taking a hit as well. Like I said as long as the staff stays they are going to be really tough.

I think it would be a defensive battle with St. Frances winning a close game. Dunbar may even win with their experience.

SFA is getting a new field, I hear it's starting real soon. Will houses will be knocked down and a turf field with lights will be going up for next football season

Why do you think SFA would only draw kids from Dunbar?

I dont see it happening. Dunbar is getting most of the players in baltimore after Gilman and Calvert Hall takes their first dibs. Here are the reason that SFA will not be a threat to Dunbar.

    Dunbar keeps winning
They put over 90% of their players in college with 100% graduation rate
New Stadium- Last fridays home coming atmosphere was electric and the field isnt complete. When its done they will fit 3,000 in dealth valley. Kids all over the city will want to play their and theres plenty of talent in Bmore.
Under Armour- kids like shiny and the Poets Uniform and UA gear attracts.
They are increasing enrollment which means more boys. Dunbar program has 90 boys in a school with about 175 boys. What do you think will happen when Dunbar has 300 boys in the school?

This Dunbar thing is just starting.....next year 2A

    Meth,
I can agree with some of what you said but some points I do question.
They keep winning - No argument here
New stadium and ultra hi tech uni's - Again, can't argue you that one either
I don't know the exact numbers on Dunbar's current enrollment but, I find only 175 boys in that total enrollment a little hard to believe but you would know better than
Graduation rate. No problem here with the 100% rate but I do question the 90% of the players going on to college. We're talking about legitmate enrollment here. 2 of your topguns from last year are in prep school. That alone in my mind can not count toward that 90%. last year I believe there was a huge discussion on this board about kids opting to go to prep school instead of a good D1AA or D3 school with the hopes of possibly attracting D1 attention to themselves thereby possibly earning themselves a scholly but, I think it warrents a bit of an explantion why a 4-5 star recruit is in prep school and not be enrolled in class on the campus where they signed. Enlighten me please

All you guys are silly, it was the fresh/soph team coaches were asking about having 6 soph on the team. But only 2 was starting, remember this was suppose to be a JV team but MIAA requested to make them a fresh/soph this year and a JV team next yr. there's your answer .
