I'd add McLouth to that short list. other than that, you're right.

Amazing, wasn't it? Jones, Davis, Wieters, Tex, A-Rod, Cano, Fielder, Cabrerra and so on.

I agree, Mclouth and if we looked hard enough a very few others, but overall AL bats flat-out died.

You guys know better than me about stats and stuff. I just have trouble getting by the expression on the guy's face. It would be like the Ravens bringing in Hines Ward. Maybe if the smirking guy is on your team it isn't too bad, but he just rubs me wrong.

Hines Ward has an excuse - he was on Dancing with the Stars and needed to fake a smile for a solid four months. Has Swisher ever been on Dancing with the Stars?

I'll pass on Nick "the dick" Swisher

No way Petey and DD spend superstar money on an average player...

It makes no sense at all. Better off spending that kind of money on a superstar or even a couple of average players. McLouth and Reimold can play left.

By that metric we should get rid of most of our hitters. Jones, Davis, Reynolds, Hardy, Weiters all "choked" in the playoffs.

There's something to be said about chemistry and you guys seemed to have it in spades this past year. Someone like Swisher could easily come in and disrupt if not destroy it regardless of his on field production. He strikes me as a slightly more talented Kevin Millar in that he's a guy who's mostly about self promotion and styling/profiling and if his team happens to do well then all the better.

But all the same I think you can find better and much cheaper fits elsewhere.

They only did it against the Yankees. Your bum Swisher did it against the O's and Tigers. Plus, if it makes you happier with me giving you another reason, I don't like the punk. He was wearing face paint for crap's sake in a game againsgt the Orioles until Gerardi made him stop and instead start looking at least slightly professional.

Do we have a player named Reimold? I don't believe I've seen him in the field

Swisher is way better than Gary Matthews Jr

If Swisher expects $9-10 million plus per year, forget him. I'm thoroughly opposed to wasting our owner's money on a retread. For $10 million, we can get two or three years of superior production out of Hall of Famer Vlad the Impaler.

Based on clutch hitting and defense in a playoff series I would take McClouth over Swisher any day of the week and he has to be a lot cheaper.

but can McLouth get you to the playoffs?

it seems to me that you're putting the cart before the horse. you need to focus on which left fielder can help the team make it to the post season.

in 2003, the NYY & FLA went to the WS.

do you know why? because Boston and CHI decided to save their #1 starters for game 1 of the WS. they never made it that far, because NY & FLA realized there was no WS if they didn't win game 7. they used their best pitcher to win the most important game of the season, their next game.

I'm not opposed to committing to Nate in LF. I think he played well enough to deserve the position. he'll be an inexpensive alternative and he has speed. he's not an impact bat, but he's a solid player.

Vlad is old and can't play anymore, the sooner you wake up and realize that the better. You can't be right about everything hector.
