I think the reason the O's didn't show up is because there aren't many players on that list that the O's need. pitching is always a need, but the O's aren't going to pay top $$$ for a FA pitcher. also, it's real easy to put Bos & NYY under every name, because they are always willing to spend.

other outlets have mentioned LaRoche to Balt. so it depends on who you're asking. Torii is an interesting thought. he's still good, and he wouldn't require a long term deal. but the O's and Nate both seem happy with the idea of him returning to the O's

    What you said.
For me, the only guys on that list that make any sort of sense for the O's are LaRoche and Pagan - and the latter is a risk.
The one thing the O's need to do is find someone with speed and the ability to get on base.

MLB trade rumors has us signing #6 free agent swisher. I'd be surprised if we signed a top 20 FA. duquette gave us his blue print last offseason and it's trades, and 2nd tier FA's.

I heard talk that Denard Span will be shopped this winter. he's exactly what the O's need, and he's friends with AJ. if the O's have the pieces the Twins need, and if the asking price is right...

    No offense, but...

You are upset because some scribe didn't link a top FA with the Orioles? Free agency didn't even start yet and there are many ways a team can address its needs besides free agency. It would make more sense to wait it out until closer to Spring Training, when many of the 2013 team's roster is in place, to make such declarations.

None taken NCBirdfan. I was just trying to be humorous (and I now realize unsuccessfully), and to link the article for anyone who might want to take a look at it. Thats all.

I totally didn't get that from your post. I was about to reply to NCbirdfan and sort of defend reasons why it could possibly trouble you that the O's weren't on anyone's radar

Yet there are reports we had the third highest offer for Prince Fielder last year. There is no Prince quality player this year. But who knows what will happen. Evidently the yankees are out of the free agent market. And with the Dodgers and Angels trying to shed salary and Hamilton not going back to the Rangers there is an opportunity if they want it. I also think the Tigers are out but you never know.
