Just listening to analysts on Pittsburgh radio discussing the upcoming game.

Their major comment was that although Joe Flacco has played well in Pittsburgh, this year Flacco has not been Flacco away from Baltimore.

The no-huddle not being as easy to run in a hostile environment.

He sucked on the road last year (see the Tits and Jacksonville specifically).

This thread is absolutely a laugh riot with all the doom and gloom. I would love to go back to last years build up thread and I would say it read pretty much the same way. Pitts had just beaten the Pats and the Ravens had to come from way back to beat the Cards. The pundits and fans from both teams were predicting a blowout Steelers victory. The rest is history.

As for the game after next (there's the chiefs and raiders ahead for both teams respectively) the Steelers will be under tremendous pressure to win. Its at home, they need the division game (can't have the Ravens go to 4-0) and this would be the Steelers 3rd loss in a row at home to the Ravens in the regular season. They lose and its 2 games back of the Ravens with the Ravens being able to put the Steelers away on 12/2. The Ravens should play loose with virtually no expectations since everyone has annointed the Steelers as the division and maybe AFC champ.

I believe the Ravens play well in Penn. and it comes down to the wire.

7-2 puts them in an excellent position, no matter how you think they are playing. The Chargers are nothing special, the Redskins are still years away from being anything to worry about, and a split with the Steelers still gives them a game advantage. I think 11-5 is a reasonable guess for the final record. That would only mean going 4-3 over the last seven weeks. If nothing else, the Steelers have a short week heading into next week's match-up.

A positive attitude is a good way to go. This isn't last year though, and we are a decidedly weaker team despite what our record says. We all know it. Let's hope for the best. My bet is that we will wilt under the national spotlight and get our asses kicked while our QB looks like he has been popping Xanax prior to the game to calm his nerves. I sincerely hope I am wrong - you saw what happened when we played the Texans (a quality team) on the road? Expect a similar game against the Steelers.

a split is the most likely outcome...however, as I just noted in another thread...the Ravens haven't lost in Pittsburgh since 2009....that despite really playing bad on the road both years.....the gloom and doom is very old at this point....the people in Pittsburgh are taking the Ravens far more seriously than the people here..that's sad....

Look for a split. Comes down to who has the harder schedule on the road for the rest of the season IMO. (Talk about yr blinding insights.....)

    Default Young Steeler in trouble

    From the Pittsburgh Post Gazette:

    Rookie released

The Steelers released rookie defensive lineman Alameda Ta'amu Monday to make room to sign wide receiver David Gilreath from the practice squad.

Ta'amu, a fourth-round draft pick from the University of Washington, was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence and fleeing an officer after an off-duty officer first spotted him driving the wrong way on Fort Pitt Boulevard and then heading over the Smithfield Bridge to the South Side Oct. 14.

Three officers on foot attempted to stop him as he continued to drive erratically down East Carson Street, nearly striking them as they drew their guns and yelled for him to stop.

His SUV struck four parked vehicles, injuring a woman who was sitting in one of them, and finally crashed into a Honda Civic.

It took four officers and two sets of handcuffs to restrain the 6-foot-3, 348-pound defensive lineman, who had a blood alcohol level of 0.196, more than double the legal limit, according to a police complaint.

He also is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, DUI and escape, all misdemeanors, in addition to several summary driving offenses.

If Ben can't go this changes everything. So, here comes Skip "the ahole" Bayless making comments like it doesn't matter if it's Big Ben or Batch or Leftwich....schtick or not.....he's an idiot. Ben and Batch shouldn't been mentioned in the same sentence when pertaining to football skills.

If Ben doesn't play our D line just got much better

Any news on Clark ? he left the game with a head or neck injury.

IF Big Ben is out for 4 or 5 weeks...like Akfars sources have stated, will the Steelers still make the playoffs ?

    the rest of their schedule
    Ravens
    @ Cleveland
    @ Ravens
    Chargers
    @ Dallas
    Bengals
    Cleveland

what a difference in the 2 schedules.....Steelers don't have Houston or the Pats

That's the price we paid for the AFC North title.

If Ben can't play, I think we can split, each winnig at home, although Joe plays well there as opposed to other road games.

If Ben plays, it's a lot tougher given his ability to extend a play.

Even with Roethlisberger out, I still hope the Ravens will not deviate from giving their running backs 25-30 touches. Just because Big Ben will not play, there's no reason to have a false sense of security. The Ravens could still easily lose this game. If Cameron keeps his head, Baltimore may just get out of Pittsburgh with a win and have a chance for a sweep 2 weeks later.

Clark says he feels good but he has not passed the required tests yet. It looks like Antonio Brown will not play.

    Two really banged up teams....

    Should be a good one

Thought coming in the Steelers would win with no problem...with you guys losing Ben I've had a change of OPINION. But hey.....that's why they play the game

Always nice to hear from ya
