With 2 college tuitions, the TR7 will be my toy for quite awhile. At least I have the requisite "All parts falling off this car are of the finest British craftsmanship" bumper sticker.....
Last son graduated from Michigan a year ago....so happy to be out from under that burden, and allows me to think about my dream car. Maybe someday once I get some real world data on the car. Don't want to be the first guy to experiment....

    Cheers.

Good for you! I still have a ways to go in the tuition department.

    Have a good evening!

My avatar is that of my youngest son, at u of Michigan, touching the Stanley Cup.

Besides being out from under the tuition burden....the best part is both of my boys found good jobs in their respective fields of study. I'm just sooooo glad tht they found good jobs, and not back living with mom and dad....like a lot of college kids these days! Both ny wife and I are happy being empty nesters. It took a while to adjust to an empty house, but now we love it...or at least I do.

Thanks, apology accepted. There's a temptation to act like that on here to provoke people. I know the feeling.

Apparently their legislatutors negotiated a better deal for their residents. Since most hybrids end up on the Left coast, Toyota was happy to agree,

That said, real world data from 1,000's of taxi cab drivers, who have 200K-300k miles in urban driving conditions, show virtually no battery failures. The key to this is energy management technology that keeps the batteries from being depleted, or over charged.

With all this said, I might expect some degradation in the battery Capacity after 200K, but I do not expect complete failure. Should that happen, however, then the car is still perfectly drivable as a non-hybrid vehicle. It will still be useable.

Until we can re-charge at work, etc, the premium for the Volt is not yet cost effective. But as anybody that's ever driven an electric vehicle will attest, there's nothing like the smooth, and instantaneous torque you get from electric. It's incredibly smooth, quiet and powerful. there's no doubt in my mind that my next car will be a Tesla.

Diesels seem to excel in mpg's on the highway, but as anybody who lives on the Eastern seabord knows, about the only time you can open it up is on the weekends. Traffic is just too contested around here to quote mpg's obtained with highway driving.
It's my understanding that umcp does have charging stations, and you can park for free.
