Default House Speaker Boehner willing to meet Barry Obama halfway on looming fiscal cliff

By Lori Montgomery, Wednesday, November 7, 3:39 PM

Republicans are “willing to accept new revenue” to tame the soaring national debt and avert an ugly battle over the approaching “fiscal cliff,” House Speaker John A. Boehner said Wednesday in a speech that offered a potential path to compromise in year-end budget negotiations.

With President Obama reelected and Republicans returned to a slightly smaller majority in the House, Boehner (R-Ohio) said Tuesday’s election amounted to a plea from voters for the parties to lay down their weapons of the past two years and “do what’s best for our country.”

Let's hope that Barry Obama lays off his "angry black man" schtik long enough to entertain the idea of bipartisanship.

    I doubt it, though.

Or, he may be too busy in the next few weeks yucking it up on The View or Jay Leno, etc. to actually do any work.

Still, let's at least hope this clown Obama is able to TRY and do some work before the end of the year.

Once you all figure out that both sides of the aisle are in fact the same--owing to their campaign donors who grant them their power, we all can start to focus on the REAL problem....

getting rid of anyone elected to any office prior to 2010. All new blood needs to occupy both chambers and the executive branch.

Does anyone REALLY think the Nations biggest problems revolve around big Bird, gay marriage, birth control, and college grades?

Face it, when the hyper-inflation hits here in a bit, and all the free stuff dries up it will be too late to figure out that the "red vs. blue" "donkey vs. elephant" "left vs. right" crap is all just a way to distract us while a chosen few pick our pockets and give the $$$ to those who help keep them in power.

obama apparently won an election last night, amazing as it is considering the condition of the economy, now HE is responsible for everything going forward. he has a track record, and no more excuses.

    What will he do now?

I wonder why the Speaker isn't talking about substatantive defense cuts? You know something that would really make some headway on the deficit?

You know if they do cut defense spending, they'll just close a few bases but keep the billions flowing to the contractors.

How about Boehner stops holding America hostage and meets the country all the way.
