Default GAME OF THE WEEK (Edmondson vs Douglass)

Can't believe none of you are talking about this....no doubt both teams will seek to make adjustments.

Why? Haven't seen Douglass. What offense do they run? How are they defensively? Who are their star players?

They run a run of the mill spread with multiple sets. Not too much fire power or playmakers but they can and will trick you into showing them coverages they can take advantage of...and will wait all day to get what they want...On D, a very smartly coached, hard hitting and discipline bunch of kids who respond to Micro management...meaning they can respond to on feild spot adjustmments and comprehend what they are being asked to do. Their kids understand the coverages they are in, the functioning of the coverages and how to use them to attack the O. Great coach who I have the pleasure of calling my neighbor....great program they have built @ Douglass

Douglass gave a tough Milford Mill team trouble and the first game was close so I expect a close low scoring game with Edmondson's Rb being the difference in the 4th.

Allow me to issue a formal welcome to both Edmonson and Douglass to 1a. Sounds like they both will be great additions with the exit of Dunbar next season. I also like keeping the Cumberland vs Baltimore battle going. Hope to get to play one of them next season, looking forward to seeing someone else from the City league OTHER than the Poets!!! Despite some GREAT games between FH and Dunbar, they have our number on speed dial!! Nice to see a couple of new faces.

Why is Edmondson moving to 1A. I think they will dominate 1A as dunbar did before them

Edmondson leads Douglass 14-0 with 5:41 left in the 4th quarter. I came into the game rooting for EW to win the 2A. Not now after I saw #2 (safety) cheap shot Douglass' #17 (WR) on a play where the football was overthrown by 5 yards. As the WR fell to the turf after trying to get up, #2 danced around like a boxer after a knockout. A 15 yd penalty was assessed but a taunting flag was not thrown by the officials. Even worse was that not one Red Storm coach corrected the offending player.

Douglass just scored and got the two pt conversion. EW 14 Douglass 8. 2:56 remaining in the 4th.

Douglass pinned EW inside the 5 on 3 downs. 32 seconds left. EW fumble the long snap for a safety. EW 14 Douglass 10. 21 seconds remaining. EW to kickoff from their 20 yd line. Douglass ran the kick back to the 31. The Ducks QB threw a INT. EW knelt down for the W.

I hope Dundalk beats EW. Probably wont happen though.

Have you seen Edmondson? Their offense is pedestrian but their defense is extremely freakin' fast. I'm sure Dundalk hasn't faced such speed and quickness. Nonetheless, Go Dundalk!

Dundalk is in BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA with the red storm this week, their jv coach has been running around all year bragging about their team speed and how though they are. This is not Patapsaco this week my brother and things will get AWFULLY, AWFULLY PHSICAL with D Jone's boys in this game. Good luck to both teams but its a big difference between Bco D2 and Bci D1 and it will show up big time.

This game will be a running clock early in the 3rd qtr. Edmondson has way too much size, speed and athleticism for Dundalk. The 1a and 2a teams in the county are more comparable to the D-II teams in the city league but the D-I teams are a different animal.

Kudos to DucksCoach for a great job and and a great season over at Douglass. I was very impressed with the amount of talent that Douglass now has on the team. They cracked the Big 5 this year in a big way and have nothing to be ashamed of. The biggest weakness I saw yesterday was the o-line but they were as good as anybody else in the league everywhere else. Job well done.
