"Tony Harris takes a personal look at Baltimore’s inner city and an education system that has failed black Americans.
Baltimore, Maryland has come to be known as ‘Charm City’ because of its harbor, which attracts a vibrant nightlife and thriving tourism business. But just beyond the harbor’s calm waters is one of the toughest and most violent inner cities in the US."

The city education system has failed black Americans?
Well then all we have to do is send those kids to a county schools like Woodlawn and.........ohh wait

Maybe these people should keep it real and admit ghetto black culture is the cause for the failure and blacks only have themselves to blame

Black Culture? I have two sons who's black culture led them to college degrees from Indiana and Penn State. They definitely have themselves to blame for their degrees

So your sons were brought up in "black ghetto culture"? Then I guess they didn't turn out to be the "norm" in that culture did they?

My sons were brought up in Baltimore County with my version of black culture. What exactly is "black ghetto culture"?

You should ask genhgisravan, he is the one who used that term. You responded to him saying your boys were raised in "black culture" (ommiting the "ghetto" part which is disengenous on your part). Actually it appears that your sons were brought up in the mainstream culture.

Luckily for us. One got a full ride on a soccer scholarship, the other was smart enough to get enough academic scholarships to cover his tuition and fees for his 4 years. I filled in the gaps.

Maybe if more black people felt like Bill Cosby the city and the education would not be in the shape it is today. At this point in history, they only have themselves to blame.

    Ken,

I would say your kids also have YOU to blame for their education. (Nothing like a concerned parent to motivate their children).

    Congrats!!!

(P.S. Please tell me they didn't graduate and become defense attorneys)?

Call it whatever you want, but whatever we call it it comes down to that external solutions can only help some, not all.

Perhaps someone can educate you in the proper display of the US flag.

what is black ghetto culture? genghis made it sound like a black thing, not a ghetto thang. Isn't that why he brought up Woodlawn?

You will have to ask him what he meant by it but I assume he means the culture here in the "ghettos" of Baltimore which happen to be mostly black.
