In all honesty, Gilman looked flat and disinterested. They realize that they are better than the rest of the MIAA. I expect a good game with CHC. CHC wants to shocked the football world. Gilman has to do a better job of getting up for this game. Only players yesterday that looked ready and hype was Cockerille, Jabri, Matt Tilley and Wyatt Dickerson. Even McDonogh fans were more in to the game than Gilman's. The coaches have to have the boys ready next week. They need to let the city of Baltimore know that it all starts and finishes with Gilman. To steal one of your phrases, Gilman needs to show CHC who their daddy is!

On another note, I want to say to Dom at McDonogh to keep having no off season game plan. Because that Eagles team could be very very scary next year! The are absolutely LOADED. Wyatt Cook is a monster. Gilman's former player Kareem Montgomery is a stud. Their line is HUGE. There is no reason why McD shouldn't be Top 3 in the state next year.

Let me see if I got this right. National power Gilman beats national power Don Bosco 13 –6 and a proud Coach Poggi declares it the biggest win in school history. Don Bosco squeaks by national power Bergen Catholic 20-17. Bergen Catholic beats national power Bishop Gorman who beat national power Good Counsel. Friendship Collegiate scores 40 points on Bergen Catholic but loses 48-40. North Point High School thumps Friendship Collegiate 27-18. It looks to me like North Point would do better playing a “national” schedule against “national powers” like Gilman, Bosco, Bergen etc. considering that North Point failed to qualify for the MD State playoffs because they lost 3 games during the season to MD public schools including a 31-8 thrashing by Patuxent. It looks like some of the best teams in the nation are facing off in the MD State football tournament. Don’t believe all the private school hype. High school football is high school football.

Damn OC, just what I've been thinking and saying ALL the while. Add to it that Patuxent who thrashed North Point was beaten by Douglass Saturday who smoked Spalding but lost to Gwynn Park who at the #4 seed beat the region #1 seed McDonough and I'm getting dizzy with all of this thinking about Gwynn Park losing to Friendly who was beat down by Huntingtown who lost to Westlake who lost to North Point who beat Friendship and and and and......!!!!!!!

Why bother to see the over hyped Duo Duds with their foregone take on who will win the Hoakie Title!!!! River Hill, Wise, Quince Orchard, Winchester, Middletown, Walkersville, Suitland, et al is where the action is. Unlike bigcountry, I saw the Patuxent-Douglass game. I was not here in a pissing contest with GA as Jeebus put it when biggie said he was at a Damascus - Sherword game but in fact by the ponderence of the evidence he was on this message board pissin'. I think he is a privates plant -- CHC maybe????? Anyway, the Patuxent - Douglass game was a very good contest with Patuxent scoring a TD and extra point with only a minute left on the clock to go up 27 - 26. Douglass gets the ball on their 5-yard after the kick returner slipped. Douglass' freshman QB and senior wide receiver with other key players orchestrated a brilliant 85-yard march in the one minute to kick the winning field goal with 3-seconds on the clock. Time expired as the ball went through the uprights with my SMAC in-laws ranting that PG doesn't have a kicker on any of their teams. Surprise Surprise!!!

Spalding stinks! Gilman put up a half a century on them in the first half! 42 in the first quarter. Gilman would beat every team you mentioned by 40.

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of watching 3 contest.

Milford Mill vs NH was an excitiing game. Milford Mill's passing offense could not be stopped. MM simply outscored NH. #7 had a good arm and he was very accurate. His WR's dropped a few balls. NH fought hard and nearly took the lead in the 4th. North Harford QB Hammer could not be stopped. The QB read option and counters destroyed Milford Mill. MM never adjusted to the read. In the end, MM just had too much speed on the outside with their receivers 2, 4, and 1. Milford's defense will need to improve, in order to beat Franklin.

Edmondson vs Douglass - This game had a lot of speed on the field from both teams. SPEED SPEED AND MORE SPEED. These two teams may have the fastest defenses in the state. Both teams laid the wood. Douglass has one of the best QB in the area and receivers. Douglass O-line was just destroyed. Edmondson is loaded with running backs. The difference in the game was Edmondson's D line, which was able to penetrate every play.

Edmondson could make another title run.

Dunbar vs Forestville - Crest looked really good for Dunbar. Jaquan Holt and Colemen had great cuts running the ball. Forestville never gave up. They just didn't have as much talent. Dunbar dominated.

That would be misplaced focus GA. Gliman should have beaten teams like Moeller and Good Counsel this year by 40; teams on their schedule and not these merely mentioned teams. But GA, beating someone or even losing to someone by 40 or your sweet spot of 21 just isn't entertaining football to me. Neither is knowing at the beginning of the season that you could lose 3 or 4 of your opening games an then go into league play and waxed everyone and then go into the title series knowing you'll whack the two or three opponents placed before you for the Hoakier Title. That just is not competitive entertaining high school football to me and the essence of what at least I'm sayin' and I think Oil Can is is also saying.

I'd rather watch a competitive 4 5 year old flag game with a lawn chair on the sideline then be in a luxury box to watch Gilman beat up on the likes of your opponents in the MIAA. Now if the MIAA champion would take on the WCAC champion this year then we could be on to something. We could have a more entertaining game potentially and you would NOT have to do your voodo thing to give GC a loss so you could get that #1 MD ranking you seek so much. You could EARN it and not back into it.

But I know the Dual of the Duds will be hyped or over hyped here. But do you know of any 5-6 year pee wee flag games I could see while Gilman slaughters Calvert as you say will happen? OR.....I could just watch the publics go at it!!!!! Thanks for thinking of that for me GA.

    Just sayin'

I really wanted to see Edmondson with all this so-called speed. Is game footage available anywhere to see them?

So no matter how bad Gilman's offensive play calling is, they still have the best defense in the state. If you think CHC is going to run the ball against Gilman like they ran against MSJ, you're crazy. It just won't happen.

Gilman wins, takes the JV and Varsity titles. All is right in the football world. Right now I'm a DeMatha fan. DeMatha wins and Gilman ends up as #1 in the state!
So Calvert Hall completely dominates MSJ and before that, Spalding and you say CHC looks pretty bad. You also think if they play like they did against MSJ they will get blown off the field. Please give me your expert analysis of why you think the Hall looks so bad.

You thought CHC looked good against MSJ? MSJ had many starters not playing and it showed. They couldn't tackle anybody. The game in general was ugly as hell. CHC looked sloppy. They ran the ball week though but Gilman isn't MSJ. I hope CHC try and run against Gilman. It will be a long day if they do.

Don't agree with your analysis against MSJ. I don't know who they had out but CHC was dominant none the less.

I Don't think Calvert Hall can run long term Sat. night but I do believe they are capable of breaking off some big runs. The key will be to mix it up in the passing game. Spread the ball around. Kuhns will need to do a better job of seeing the field and not locking in one receiver. If he does it will be a repeat of the 2nd half of the first game.

Gilman is way too fast on defense for any big runs. Kelly and Keene are solid players but they don't scare me at all. In fact the only player that scares me on offense is Levere. I think the game will be a lot like last game. Gilman has some injuries on the OL and looks like they could be without 2 starters. That's a little bit of a concern but Gilman is deeper than they have ever been. If Gilman comes out focus, CHC will be in a lot of trouble!

But if Big Sky has any connection to Big Country, he will not know which end the bullets come out of his guns with neon signs attached to the muzzles that say DANGER: HOT FAST MOVING LEAD EXITS HERE with flashing pointing arrows! He'll just shot his damn self and the smarter but equally as lame mule he rode in on from Calvert Hall who tried to "duck" but he was only a "mule". There is something about Big and Calvert Hall that has me wondering about them. I'll figure out the nexus sooner or later Big Oil Can.

    Just sayin'
