My in-laws invited me to come see one of the family boys at Patuxent play Douglass of PG. Patuxent lost the game on a field goal with about three seconds left in the game but this had to be one of the best or most thrilling high school football games I have ever seen or it was the most entertaining game I must have seen in years. It's a darn shame that one team has to lose. They were two warriors going at it back and forth and forth and back. They traded good play after good play after good play. Patuxent had to convert several 4th and long downs to sustain drives and they succeeded. #11 Travez Lee and #9 Rafiq Douglass of Patuxent were pure beasts. Patuxent actually scored the go ahead TD and extra point with only a minute and some change on the clock. Patuxent kicked off and the Douglass returner slipped and went down on about the 10-yard line. But Douglass drove down the field using sideline plays to stop the clock. They got the ball down to about the 25-yard line with 3-seconds in the game and did something I just haven't heard from a PG County team. They attempted a field goal kick. And they made it. Final score 29 - 27. My third or fouth generation cousin and other teammates cried their eyes out but there was no shame in how competitive they were. Patuxent had nothing to be ashamed of in losing to this good Douglass team. They both played well and it was well worth the price of admission.

He's been the full time starter since his 9th grade year. We tried something different earlier this year....didn't like the results and moved him back to QB.

He is a very good player and should get some college looks as an athlete/qb.IMO

Anyone know why Mount Carmel and SFA are playing their C Conference semi-final at Cedar Lane Park in Columbia? I understand wanting to play the game on a turf field, but I'd think you could go somewhere closer than Howard County, which is out of the way for both schools.

Milfords passing game was lethal today...North Harford just relied too much on #17 to carry the load offensively....He is a talented young man> IMHO, the superior conditioning of NH linemen is what helped them make a 33rd quarter run. I was also impressed with #70 and #52 from Milford...those young men showed all heart today. The Milford play calling was awesome

Wow, Lewis really blew that game. They had the lead 14-13 with less than 4 minutes to play, and had Man Valley down to their (possibly) last play, an almost-impossible 4th & 24.

Next thing you know, a 33-yd pass completion--1st down Man Valley.

2 plays later they score to put it away 20-14.

Same old song and dance...Calvert Hall beats down team with lots of injuries or whatever. Obviously you can't give credit where credit is due. CHC completely dominated with backups playing in the 3rd and all of the 4th qtr.
As always, it will be an uphill battle agains Gilman but The Hall will be more than ready for the challenge.

Let the seeding go. MSJ beat Spalding, the #3 seed, and earned the right to face CHC. The league made some concessions to establish a (un-needed?) playoff system. Recognizing the long standing tradition of the Calvert Hall-Loyola game being played on Thanksgiving Day before thousands of students and alumni the league decided they would not play during the regular season. If the two teams advance to the championship the Turkey Bowl would decide the winner. I can't wait for that to happen. Hopefully Loyola can get it's act together sooner than later.

Let me guess, you have Gilman as a 21-28 pt. favorite!

MC/SFA game was stopped in the 2nd qtr. Seems like there might of been some dirty play by the SFA players and MC Principle took players off the field.

    Default Loyola Blakefield's Football Future

While Loyola's coaching staff (sans Abbot) may have made football fun again this year, without transfers, recruits and the willingness to adapt the offensive scheme to the personnel on the roster, this Program will struggle to be competitive for the next 2-3 years. So far, its a good decade to be a Cardinal......

Have to give MV credit. They had the Lewis team well scouted and at times looked like the more seasoned team.

Forest Park 34 Dubois 26. Hats off to the Forest Park staff for a winning record w/ less than 20 players on the roster, suiting up as little as 13 for some games. I think Dunbar will be too much this week though.

What number is he? #9 Rafiq Douglas - #11 Travez Lee - and #15 ? Crounse really stood out to me from Patuxent. Numbers 2 Demory Monroe, 7 Tre Gibbons-Hall, 9 Paul Harris, 18 Devin Butler, and 33 Aaron Johnson ( before he went out early with what looked like a serious knee injury ) stood out for Douggie. Both teams had very good game plans with players to support it. My peeps said Patuxent crossed up Douglass by starting the coach's son #15 at QB when Douglass had been scouting Patuxent all season long and prepared for #11 who is an outstanding QB himself. But they wanted #11 out in space more with the ball and he was doing it. But Douglass somewhat adjusted although #11 and #15 were very effective. The #9 kid Paul Harris going to Tennessee and the freshman QB #18 Devin Butler really hurt Patuxent and were the two who pulled it out for Douglass. They were the two were torched Spalding at the beginning of the season.

Congrats Hammer, I told you last year after camp that this left handed, strong armed, lightning fast kid was special! Im happy for you all up MM because i know how hard your staff works all year and its showing bigtime! I do have one question Greg, how did you all let Sean leave?

Kyle is playing lights out football right now. We're going to need his best game ever on Friday vs Franklin.

As for the last question.......you'll have to ask the Big Fella

I have Gilman as an overwhelming favorite. Both CHC and Gilman look pretty bad. If CHC plays like they did against MSJ, they will get blown off the field. I see the same thing happening in the upcoming game as the last game. Gilman wasn't up for McDonogh and still held them to 60 yards of total offense. So no matter how bad Gilman's offensive play calling is, they still have the best defense in the state. If you think CHC is going to run the ball against Gilman like they ran against MSJ, you're crazy. It just won't happen.

Gilman wins, takes the JV and Varsity titles. All is right in the football world. Right now I'm a DeMatha fan. DeMatha wins and Gilman ends up as #1 in the state!

That says a lot when you repeatedly say Gilman looked bad, the offense sucks, and they still could be #1 in the state if your GC voodoo works.

    Just sayin'
