Take a look at a pipeline map of the U.S. Although there are many production sites in blue states, the vast majority of this nation's oil and gas is coming from Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana.

Dream on if you think you will stay warm and well lit with foreign fuel.

We should let them go to teach them a lesson.

They think they hate our government, just wait until they have to deal (on their own, mind you) with the World Trade Organization, the Organization of American States, the United Nations, and the rest of the world organizations that will demand some degree of compliance if they wish to trade with the rest of the world. Then we can let them rot when Mexico annexes them -- or takes them back if you look at it from the Mexican perspective.

Why, we'd just shut in both the natural gas and oil pipelines at border with blue states and all the northeast would go dark and cold.

Unless you start nuking yourselves to stay warm!
We don't need to nuke anyone -- we'll just roll over you with tanks on our way to take the fuel we need.

Here's how it works: You leave the Union, we trump up an excuse to declare war, we kill a couple hundred thousand of you, charge your leaders with war crimes, execute them on television, and start over.

I guess there are a few sore losers in NY and NJ too. Amusing.
This article is misleading. The states haven't petitioned for secession, some nuts in twenty states have.

Well, they are well within their 1st Amendment rights to petition their government for redress. And the government is well within its rights to deny that request

Of course, they could all leave the country and join all the liberals that promised to flee the country if W was elected to a second term.

I have been to Atlanta which is pretty decent. Nashville is ok.
Sure as heck don't think many folks will be visiting the Jersey and New York beaches anytime soon. Where is Obama and FEMA now that the election is over? It's very sad that the situation continues without resolution and the media has not been very proactive in covering the story.

I hope the secessionists get their wish or at least all move to the same place to give them a little "time out in the corner" until they end the histrionics and their crying tantrum over the election results. They could even have Ted Nugent write them their own national anthem and have Meat Loaf sing it for them as a soothing lullaby.

All the states where Conservatives are in charge should form their own country. Leave the lyberals with the results of their social programs.

Yes, yes, we've all seen the Road Warrior movies. Once was enough to know how well a conservative utopia would turn out.

Or, we could deny the children treats after dinner, send them to bed, and let the grownups get back to running the country.

As long as they took you with them, it would be tempting to say "woopee".

Really? In your vast experience what is the acceptable period of time for a shoreline that has been wiped away to recover? Or to reach "resolutions"? Or a neighborhood where a hundred homes are burnt to the ground? Just in round numbers.

Why don't you go back to chasing birth certificates? You are out of your league when it comes to hurricanes.

For the love of God go. In a few years the USA will think of you as we do others countries to our south.
