Thug DC teen beats 81-yo disabled woman to steal her computer

D.C. Police have made an arrest in the case of a masked burglar who beat up an 81-year-old woman in her home in upper Northwest D.C.

18-year-old Tyran McElrath, of Southeast D.C., has been charged with burglary.

On Wednesday afternoon, just before 1 p.m., a letter carrier discovered a homeowner who appeared beaten and confused just outside the front door of her home on the 3500 block of McKinley Street, NW. The police report filed in the case says an intruder gained entry into the home by breaking out a rear window, and struck the elderly woman in her face and head with his fist. The victim was hospitalized after the attack.

A neighbor says (and a family member confirmed) that the victim is a retired federal employee. The Russian-born woman worked as a "simultaneous translator" for President Jimmy Carter. She later worked at the Department of Energy.

Authorities arrested Kerry Trotter, 20, on Friday thanks to an anonymous tip by someone who saw an image of the suspected attacker taken by a surveillance camera on the bus that was publicly released... Trotter, who is unemployed, has previous convictions for grand theft and possession of rock cocaine, according to court records. He was previously investigated for sexual assault, but no charges were ever filed, Scott said.

Mr. Trotter sounds like the perfect candidate for being worthy of unemployment entitlements, housing paid for by others, food stamps, 'free' healthcare, etc., et al.

For once you're correct, LOTS of thugs in both DC and Baltimore. At one time both Annapolis and Columbia were nice places with low crime rates, now..... not so much.

Is that why a couple of years prior to his case as railed against the son of a police office in the beating of a homeless BLACK MAN . Passed out fliers and spent countless hours trying to organize protests .Please explain how you know he is a racist. Oh thats right you can't you just like to spout off as usual.
