Default Loyola University gets $1M gift to upgrade Reitz Arena

Loyola University Maryland has received a $1 million gift to renovate and refurbish the 2,100-seat Reitz Arena.

The gift from alumnus James D. Forbes, Class of 1980, and his wife, Hollis, will be used to enhance scoreboards and signage in the basketball and volleyball venue. The basketball court will be named Forbes Court.

James Forbes, a former Bank of America executive, is vice chairman at UBS Group, Americas in New York.

The Forbeses also donated an additional $100,000 to support software training for students in Loyola’s Sellinger School of Business and Management.
