    Default Roethlisberger "injured" AGAIN

Will he be out for weeks?

Or will he come back the HERO next week?

There are reports that his injury is serious and that he will be out for some time, but we all know how those so-caled reports have panned out in the past.

Harbaugh got fined earlier this year for under-reporting injuries. I wonder why the NFL doesn't fine teams for over-reporting injuries?

He will play. This isnt the first time this has happened but who cares. The Ravens are going to beat these bums with or without him

we've seen this before. he'll be doubtful all week, then play and will beat us. Book it. This ain't the Raiders. Don't be fooled by last night's game in the rain.

You can bet your *** the Ravens are not going to prepare for Byron Leftwich.

Roethlisberger is playing this game, no doubt in my mind, and we'll get to hear Al Michaels and Cris Collisworth talk about how tough he is all damn game.

It's always funny to me... the Ravens squeeze by a bad KC team on the road and it's cause for concern. They beat a not very good Browns team by 10 on the road, and it's not good enough. Signs of the coming apocalypse.

The Steelers lose against a bad Titans team and a bad Oakland team on the road, but they're still a SB contender. Then they squeeze by the Chiefs at home in OT, while Cassel puts in one of the worst THROWING performances I've seen in a long time, Succop misses a chip-shot FG, and Chiefs TDs are wiped off the board for a variety of reasons... and we play it off as a fluke to blame on the weather.

Oh well. Roethlisberger will most likely play. Until the Steelers actually list him as "OUT" on the report, there's no reason to believe anything else.

Nice observation. It's all about perception and expectation. Baltimore fans just seem to have this need to expect the worst, be critical of our own team, and assume that other teams/organizations are better. It's a part of our collective psyche. The fact is there is some truth to this perception until it is worked out on the field. Despite the Ravens' inconsistency, recent history has shown they tend to be in the mix at the end of the season, and then anything can happen.

Ben will play and torment us, book it.

Who called the Steelers SB contenders?

Dan Marino and fellow CBSers in the pregame show said it on Sunday (I tried finding a link to it, but was unsuccessful - if anyone knows how to get CBS pregame clips, please help); Marino went on to say the Ravens are in a down slide and the Steelers will win the division. The Steelers were also mentioned as SB contenders last night during pregame and during the game.

Ben's his own worst enemy, I DO believe he is tough, the game here where he broke his nose impressed me,you can't fake that. With that being said he has acted like a drama queen at different times through out his career and does play it to the hilt. He will play Sunday and grimace and hang his arm down ect.... Even notice the pounding Favre took and had the OPPOSITE approach, he didn't want you to know he was hurting.

If he plays Sunday, and I expect he will, I guarantee you we will get his usual Academy Award winning performance, milking it to the hilt. He's a great QB but a lousy actor, ham, drama queen, phoney baloney, whatever term you want to use.

Not sure about calling them SB contenders but I did hear Cowturd and a couple of DC sports talk radio heads say Pittsburgh is a better team than the Ravens right now. I just laugh at that stuff because I am willing to bet that would not be the view if the roles were reversed.

As we have 2 games out of the next 3 against them it really doesn't matter what commentators have to say. It should be easy to see who the better team is by watching what happens on the field.

No it does not matter what they say. I just can't figure out how they can come to that conclusion right now.

There have been no definitive reports. The drama nonsense will play all week in a certain element but rational foorball people see this as a serious threat to the season if it is a separation.

Ryan Clark was also hurt and he quarterbacks the defense. Antonio Brown is also hurt. The offense will be hurting.

Drama or no drama, Ben is one of THE toughest SOBs on the planet. In fact, I felt that it hurt the Steelers when he was playing hobbled. Yes, sometimes he'd run 15 yards and pick up a key first down, but it was clear from his passes that he could not put full pressure on his leg and it affected his throws. So no sane person can question Ben's willingness to play hurt. And Batch, while no Ben, is a very competent backup. Few NFL teams have a backup that can just step in and do what Batch can do. And he seems to have the right attitude -- he knows he's a backup and plays that role perfectly. It will be a very interesting game however it plays out.

One of the questions will be if Leftwich or Batch gets the start.

That is why I started this thread. At this moment we really don't know if it is really a serious injury or if its Ben being Ben. It's too bad he has a history of embellishment (with the sports media being willing accomplices). I'm not saying he never played injured, but he really is often full of more drama than needs to be and the sports blowhards also play it up.

There definitely are a lot of injuries on both sides. I do expect the game to be cutthroat and hard fought though. I always enjoy watching this rivalry. Both teams are the creme of the crop in the NFL year in and year out. You can't win the Super Bowl every year, but to be consistently a team that plays in the postseason bodes well for both teams.

Damn. I did it again. I meant Leftwich. But Batch is there as well. The Steelers have a lot of depth at QB.

It will still be a tough game for both teams. As far as the injury goes, the idea that he would leave a close game and go to the hospital to get attention is insane.

Ben gets attention and props routinely.

The question I have is do they prepare Batch who has a quick release or Leftwich who can throw the deep ball.

If Ryan Clark is out is will be almost as big a blow.
