I would expect the sports doctors (supposedly the best money can buy) should be able to at least make an initial diagnosis.

And you are right -I want to know now!
Maybe there's some gamesmanship going on. But there's no getting around the fact that there's a lot on the line this Sunday. I don't begrudge a team for trying to get the most out of a bad situation. And if, in fact, he plays on Sunday and is not 100%, it's going to be to the Ravens advantage. So either way, and even though I hate injury smack talk, this looks like a big break for the Purple and Black -- no injuries to the Ravens (aside from Reed, but let's not go there), and 2 injuries to the Steelers.

Reed was never accused of a felony and I doubt they're related.

Look sport. We were having a decent discussion here about the game next week and the possible impact of the injury.

For some reason you and another person want to bring this to the level of crap that makes message boards dull and uninteresting.

    You have been noticed.

You are a defender of your turf. Now go play somewhere and let the grownups talk.

If he had a major injury, wouldn't it be conclusive? If there is a tear or separation, how hard would it be to confirm it? Please excuse me for being skeptical.

I would hope you are right about Roethlisberger; if he suddenly gets better and plays this week, it would mean that he really did go to the hospital in the middle of a game for attention mostly. He would be the NFL's version of a hypochondriac.

Do not understand skeptical. What in the world would anyone gain by some type of game? The guy got hit and got hurt, it happens all the time in football.

The guy can't win. He has played with injury but when he sat out the Raven's game with a concussion Ward took him to task for not playing.

I believe he will play and hope he does just so the whiny Steelers fans won't be able to cry as much if they lose, albeit even if he plays they will have the excuse he wasn't healthy. I am more interested whether Troy and Harrison will play. I hope neither one of them is out there.

So whining about possible whining is the way to go. Well done.

    LOL! That's funny.

(But you have to admit that some Steeler fans refused to give the Ravens credit when they beat the Steelers when Ben wasn't in because Ben wasn't in.)

I'm sure they were. Let's be real though. If you read message boards you realize their are houseplant IQ types in all fan bases. It is hard to talk about football in a continuing sense.

I don't care who plays or doesn't play. The only criteria is win or lose.

The other thing about the NFL is that the 53 guys on the active roster one day one rarely play together by game three or four. Teams are shuffling all the time. Some injuries are critical as when Manning did not play last year in Indy but in general the games go in.

Of course I am more comfortable with Ben healthy but look at what Cassel did when Brady went down.

I think as fans we sometimes do not understand just how great these NFL players are compared to the average human.

It you ever stand on the sideline of an NFL game or a big time college game you will wonder how players survive some of the hits they take and deliver.

Look at the year that Ben was suspended the first 4 games. Everyone figured it'd be a miracle if the Steelers went 2-2, but they went 3-1. So you never know.

Instead of questioning other posters IQ how about questioning your own grasp of reality if you think that Steelers fans don't whine after the Ravens beat them, especially if Ben is hurting.

Your point is? That there are fans who whine when their team loses? Surely you must have a grander agenda.
