    Default Terps vs. Garbage Teams

Since it would be pointless to create a thread for each cupcake game this year, I figured it would be a good idea to create 1 thread to discuss these games for the year.

    I'll start.

    Vs. Morehead State:

I was very happy to see us blow out a team that we're supposed to beat easily, unlike past years where we struggled against teams like this. I think this year we can write off losing to any William & Marys. That remains to be see though.

Also, we got some good production off the bench, which is nice. They played sloppy at times, but overall I was happy with the performance.

Anyone watch the game tonight? It wasn't on tv here. The box score showed some promising numbers, although Faust didn't do much (although I could be wrong, having not watched the game).

I saw the game on ESPN3. LIU Brooklyn is a pretty good team. They are small, but tough defenders. The Terps were up most of the game by 7 to 9, but then would stretch it out. LIU would then hit a couple of 3's to bring it back.

What really opened it up for the Terps was the 3's hit by Sethe Allen. He was deadly. Very impressive player thus far.

Overall, a good win over a team that is no cupcake. They should do well in their conference.

Game against UMES.... Interesting that they started mostly bench players and gave limited minutes to the normal starters. Pshon had like 9 minutes. Still scored 100 and won by 30... Good stuff.

    Default Charles Mitchell

I didn't see big Charles in the game against South Carolina State, although he was dressed and on the bench. Anyone know why he was kept out? Illness maybe?

He started but got benched and only ended up with eight minutes.

I just got home. Nice day at Comcast. Defense looked good. Offense not so much. The often looked confused and ended up getting bailed out by either multiple rebounds or fouls.
That won't work against ACC teams. Not much of a fan presence for a nice Saturday game. Maybe half full. Lots of cheap or free tickets in the parking lot.

Thanks Demopub. I did miss the first few minutes. I read that he started, but made a couple turnovers and hit the bench.

Coach T doesn't appear to baby these guys. What a great job he has done in such a short period of time. The program is headed back to where it belongs. There is so much talent that the Terps let get away in prior years.

They have some work to do. But I agree that coach T has the right attitude.

I am not sure what to expect in conference play.

    Default VS Monmouth

The guard play in the first half was really bad. Way too many turnovers and they struggled with Monmouth's pressure. Second half was much better. This is a weakness that could really hurt them in ACC play. Faust is really a wing and Allen is more of a combo guard. Pretty thin at the point guard.

I did not see any of last night game. It will certainly be interesting to see how this team does in the ACC. Hopefully they have the kinks worked out. There early test against Kentucky is looking less impressive as that team continues to struggle. Realistically their win against UMD is their best win.
