I imagine, it would look something like this (a person I encountered in Morocco)

America does not currently have a national official language, which is why so many courts are forced to provide translation services in Spanish for illegals and why many jurisdcitions conduct affairs in other languages. I think English SHOULD be made the official language of the U.S. More than half the states have English as their official language. Of coure liberal Maryland isn't one of them! I don't get why our elected officials feel its so important to make illegal aliens feel welcome and comfortable.
Translation services are also used in court for "legals."
If there is any poetic justice, one day you will find yourself in court (whether as plaintiff or defendant, victim or accused) and will be forced to decide whether you will forego the testimony of a favorable witness because they don't speak English to your satisfaction.
Why you all gotta be knockin' Carroll County? Lived here all my life and love it!
We don't care if you don't care about us - in fact, we prefer it that way.![]()
The Official English Ordinance has passed.
Thursday, January 24, 2013 – The Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously today to make English the official language of Carroll County. This ordinance recognizes English as the language in which all official county business will be conducted.
Commissioner Haven Shoemaker sponsored the ordinance. In open session today he said that this “will ensure that all official county business is conducted in English, save the county money, simplify county communications and provide incentives to learn English to those living in Carroll County.” He continued saying, “Two other Maryland counties and 60% of the states have passed similar ordinances, polls indicate that over 80% of Americans support English as our official language and 92% of other countries have codified official languages.”
Commissioner Doug Howard also voted in favor of the ordinance stating that it “although I was not convinced that there was a need to raise this issue, I do believe that if the question is what language Carroll County currently uses, the obvious answer is English. With that as the reason for my vote, I strongly hope that our county, in all that we do, will embrace that which has made us strong – different backgrounds, different customs and connections to our ancestry.”
NO one cares
This isn't England but we started out as English colonies and the founders were mostly all English subjects. Even though the American Culture is a conglomeration of cultures of those who settled here it is based on English culture. Sorry but your "native" cultures were defeated by more advanced European cultures.
"At my challenge, by the ancient laws of combat, we are met at this chosen ground, to settle for good and all who holds sway over the Five Points: us natives, born rightwise to this fine land, or the foreign hordes defiling it."
