"In the 1970s, paedophilia was theorised as something fully in conformity with man and even with children,"

Where on this green earth was Peadophilia theorised as something in conformity. Perhaps he is talking of the Catholic Church where priest raped and molested thousands of kids under the protection of the Catholic Church. Which by the way is still protecting paedophiles as we learn day by day. Instead of the pope saying the above statement (his own words), perhaps he could have said, we need to do a house cleaning for the good of all the people and stop hiding, denying and protecting rapist and molesters.

I don't give much credence toward the Catholic Church and doing the right thing.

The Church is, apparently. But brother squid seems to have a problem with this, so I was merely explaining why I thought it was a good thing, comparatively.

Makes a big difference, doesn't it? In this case, context is everything, I'd say.

I'd provide you with a link to NAMBLA's web page but it doesn't seem to be working on this computer, which I somehow find refreshing.
