Like they say a man is measured not by how much he has accumulated in his life but by how many friends he has or something like that.I tell my wife all the time now how much is enough, never thought I would say that ....I really believe there has been a fundamental shift in the upper echelon of the business world in the last 40-50 years. There is no doubt they are taking more and giving less but they pretend they are and for some reason people are still defending them with the same tired old excuses, and it plays right into their greed.
Cool, maybe he has 15 daughters ALL with Vettes, are there any late 50's or 60 - 61's in that garage? A 283 with 2 X4's would make me very happy, my needs are modest.Perhaps he's a kind heart and all of those daughters were adopted from the Ukraine and he's just generous?
Well It's POSSIBLE you know.![]()
Hold on there. Now that sounds a bit too elite and adventuresome for this here palette.
The Missus buys cinnamon-raisin bagels by the cartload (blueberry bagels are a substitute in times of scarcity) and I eat them one bag at a time. Alas, culinary adventurism is not an expressed phenotype herein. I can only think of one time, over the last half dozen years of eating at our favorite restaurant, where I have not ordered the same meal.
Now, if you want to talk about non-elite things such as designer men's suits, fine men's wristwatches or foreign sport coupes... I would have to admit that such non-elite things are within my purview.![]()
'Things' are nice, but the older I get the more I am fascinated by children, babies, the birds in the yard, the fox and kits in the field, and the greying of my husbands hair, I do believe I was responsible for a good bit of that. These are a few of my favorite things.![]()
Children and babies are not my thing and never have been my thing (much to the chagrin of my parents to whom I had explain the facts of life to in no uncertain terms). However, I am glad that you have found them to be among the things (in the broad sense) that provide happiness (by substitution for both the words fascinated and favorite).
Outside of physical immortality (an elusive goal) I achieved most of my goals at a relatively early age (before the age of 30). At this point life is merely a matter of keeping the ship steered on a well-known and smooth trajectory. The billable work pays the bills and then some and the research work and other similar pursuits keeps things interesting.
Actually bought a box of chocolate creme Twinkies and a box of Suzy Q's at the supermarket this morning.

Matt, you might want to sell them on Ebay. lol
My children are my legacy.
No doubt there's enough preservatives in them to have them last till they are officially antique.
My husband shares your pedestrian palette, alas, except for wine and Scotch. He likewise has a penchant for top line watches. (I, in line with my wifely duty of pointing out his foibles, always remind him that the reason a person buys a Piaget or Rolex or whatever is strictly as a badge. He usually just throws a significant glance at my shoes and wanders off....Men and logic, kinda pisses me off!)
In other news, so happy you brought another pup into your life! One lucky canine and hopefully will fill the void.
Cheers.
