New Town 47 Manchester Valley 14...First things first...Manchester Valley is a GOOD football team...#6 is a monster...MV was able to move the ball pretty well against the outsized Titan D line...Big plays by the Titans ended several early MV drives...The Titans won this with superior SPEED. Congratulations to Coach Holland and the lil Titans on thier first regional championship in school history...
Some info on this one:
Fort Hill 42
According to a friend out west, Fort Hill scored to make it 42-40 with less than a minute to go, then Brunswick came back 25 seconds and two plays later to win the game. Ouch.
congratulations Milford !!!! I thought that games was sceduled for saturday !@#$
An incredible finish.
Brunswick High School had little time left to win their second 1A West Region football championship in three years. Fort Hill had gone 55 yards in eight plays to take a 42-40 lead with 1 minute remaining in regulation.
Turns out Brunswick didnít need much time. The Railroaders used a two-play, 17-second drive to clinch a 46-42 victory and a berth in the state semifinals.
On their final drive, Nusbaum threw a 26-yard pass to Doug Pearl on a streak down the left sideline. On the following play, Nusbaum found Price on a slant across the middle. Price caught the ball on his back hip and continued running to the left sideline where he got a block from Pearl and took the ball into the end zone.
Quince Orchard will be headed to Westminster next week (based on the re-seeding of the remaining teams).
Unless Suitland happens to beat Wise today, then #4 Meade would get the #1 Owls and #2 QO would get a home game vs #3 Suitland.
Themselves! There is no way they should have lost this game -no disrespect to mm. MM qb was awesome and mike jones and 3 the big tb played tremendous games, but Franklins offensive talent is SCARY! They were gashing MM all night with their 2 headed TB Reggie Ellis and #3 (where the hell did he come from?) They should have run those 2 all night, but they continued to try and throw despite the obvious. Thier QB couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat last night. He just was not on last night but they kept pumping the ball down field. Franklin could have won it all this year, they were that talented. Again, props to Reg and his crew. Their qb who has been there for 4 years was a man last night. Best of luck in the states.
