Are you implying that this guy is a victim somehow and not responsible for his sorry history because he's black? That he's being unfairly attacked for his own crappy actions just because he's black?

And using the example of a guy born in the 1700's as an argument pointing out a double standard?

race clouds the view, for both sides. here it applies to you as well as anyone else.

If this guy is clean now, great. The real issue is our inability to have candidates that have not been repeatedly involved in the system.

Hall was initially charged with murder in the 1992 shootout that killed a 13-year-old boy in the crossfire.

He spent 40 days in jail. But the charge was withdrawn after tests showed the fatal bullet had come from the gun of another man with whom Hall was feuding.

A jury also determined that Hall did not fire the first shot, and Hall was convicted separately on a misdemeanor gun charge.
Good to know. If Mr. Hall is in a gun battle, it won't be his bullet that kills your kid. I wonder what the feud was over?

Yes I did. Drug war is a pretty broad way to define a feud that leads to a gun battle.

And one day you might stop being so angry when someone responds to one of your posts on a message board.

If you want people to mind their own "GD business", why are you even participating on a talk board where people weigh in on all kinds if issues?

Default Neither Criminal Will Get Delegate seat

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/...d=pm_local_pop

The Maryland state legislator ousted over a misconduct in office conviction will not get her seat back, and the former drug dealer nominated to replace her probably won’t get it, either.

Instead, Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) will choose who represents the 24th District in the General Assembly, Prince George’s County Circuit Court Judge C. Philip Nichols Jr. ruled Wednesday. And O’Malley does not even have to wait for a recommendation from Prince George’s Democrats.

In a 34-page ruling, Nichols decided that Tiffany Alston was appropriately removed from her seat in October when she was convicted of misconduct in office, a conviction that technically vanished a month later when she paid a fine, completed community service and received what is known as probation before judgment. Nichols also ruled that until O’Malley appoints a successor, the Prince George’s County Democratic Central Committee could withdraw its nomination of former drug dealer Gregory Hall, a move the panel’s chairman says is imminent.
I guess they will now face the difficult task of finding a non criminal in Prince Georges County to take the seat.
