I agree except I like New town and Huntingtown to win tight games.

He doesn't have any offers at any level.

Never having played prior to his senior year didn't help. Neither does playing in what a lot of college coaches call a system offense. There is also not a great track record of Westminster QBs doing that well in college. Kevin Clancy (took Westminster to the championship game in 2005) had some decent success at D-II Shepherd his junior and senior years, but that's about it.

If I had to guess I'd say he ends up at Stevenson, Frostburg, or one of the lower-level PA or VA D3 Schools. Salisbury's out because they run the Navy triple-option and I don't think he has the grades for McDaniel, Hopkins, or the other Centennial Conference schools in PA. If he was to get athletic money, it would probably be a lower-tier school in the PSAC (PA D-II Conference) or Mountain East, which is a new D-II Conference starting in 2013 made up of football-playing schools from the WVIAC (old WV D-II Conference) plus UVA-Wise, Notre Dame (OH) and Urbana (OH). Bowie State could be a possibility as well. He could also choose to go post-grad or to a JUCO, although there's not many football playing JUCOs left on the East Coast.

I think that Catholic in DC would be the best fit for Kern football-wise. They run the closest thing to Westminster's offense that exists on the college level, play in a pretty good D3 conference (ODAC) and have had recent success with a QB from MD who played in a similar system in HS (Ricca from St. John's Catholic Prep).

Thanks Eagle. What an informed answer. Never played before this year and he broke records? Somebody should give him a shot.

Like I said earlier. This young man is obviously a good player but he plays in a unique system. Kyle Maceachem is the best player I have seen in the Metro. That includes the Qb from Gilman and Westminster.

The best player in the area? No way. You can say he might be the best QB in the area. But playing Franklin isn't like playing Moeller! Shane DESTROYED them for about 200 yards rushing. The best player in the Area is either Micah Kiser, Henry Poggi or Matt Tilley. The player with the most potential and highest upside is Melvin Keihn.

I agree Gilman plays better competition. Shane does have a lot of division 1 players around him. He is a beast and would deserve player of the year as well . I have seen a lot of games this year on film and live and have not seen a player as dominant with less as MM's QB.

No one is as big a New Town fan than I am but, beating an undefeated Perryville squad is going to be a TOUGH task...The Titans would have to play the game of thier lives and have a few breaks fall thier way to win this one.

It sounds all "Relative" to me. So Gilman supposedly play better competition and you also indicate that they have some of the better talents. Yet the better competition of Gilman seems to have been the three-four out of league games they played and they lost several of those with, according to GA, a no brainer that anyone would assess that Gilman would walk through the MIAA enroute to yet another champtionship. I don't assess that as playing better competition by any stretch of the imaginative thinking. It is what is it as they say, The Big Dawg in a lil pound of puppies who is at best only the second best team in Maryland behind a LADY nonetheless with a team in Onley.

He didn't just give the kid props, he called him the best player in the area. That's a pretty bold statement, especially when you have four star kids who have produced against elite competition. There are other players outside of Gilman in the area that I would consider in the top category. Players like Marvin Gross out of Dunbar. Players like Kyle Levere and Delando Johnson out of CHC.

Destroyed them? You are such an idiot it is laughable. What Moeller did to Gilman is when the adjective DESTROYED should be used. What Shane did to Moeller should be considered average at best.

Once again, a thread that has nothing to do with Gilman turns into a thread about.......Gilman.

Yeah, we get it, GA, they have a good team.

Now let the public school threads remain "Gilman Free" if your ego will allow it.

You do realize that the best players currently playing football from the State of Maryland are from Public schools right- like Joe Haden, Laquan Williams, Tavon Austin, Aaron Maybin, Ben Tate and so on? You think just because a kid goes to a Private school that automatically elevates his standing, truth be told, the private school kids have been historically overrated not underrated.

Shane rushed 25 times for 159 vs Moeller and was 7 for 16 for 58 yds passing.. just keeping it real.. carry on..
